I would be very concerned for her welfare given the age bracket, 16-23 and would offer to relocate with her even if it means being out of work. If it was a brother in similar scenario, I would also be concerned, but not as concerned.

I will do my best to reason with her but if she’s a legal adult and is 100% determined to leave, no one can stop her. I’d pray for her safety and hope the best of the situation.

If she got accepted into a university elsewhere then I think take comfort in her succeeding with her education. However, without a specific reason moving away from family at that young age is worrisome. Then again you can't really hold someone captive who is dead set on leaving.

What I tell my nieces and nephews who are around the age of 17 mark is We don't care what you do after the age of 21/22. But what we worked hard for is for you to finish your education. By 21 we expect you to finish your degree add one year of masters by the age of 22 your free to live your life. We tell them we will support them financially emotionally physically and give them what ever they need however under the understanding that they focus on their education and nothing more. As for leaving thats out of the equation. Only one niece was allowed to leave at 18 and that was only because she was going to university and living in university campus. Other then that no they can't leave.

Is time to book on a trip. Pack your bags and less go - dhaqan celis must be on the families holiday checklist - disaster!
In this situation DHAQAN-CELIS is more important than a degree (or more important than chicken & chips in this case).

We all know once Somali girls are given freedom what they become! I say as long as she's old enough to take care of herself financially let her go.
