It makes no sense to me if sheekh isaaq was an Arab saint or not, what makes sense to me is how I can survive today. To me a qabiil is like an army , I don't give a shit the background of my comrades as long as we are engaged in the Same combat and loyal to each an other. Qabiils can be created from the scratch. All you need to form a qabiil is common name and common interest.

I was rooting for the Dir conference for political reasons (I am not Dir proponent, but I thought there was an opportunity for the Isaac to further their interest in Ethiopia by joining forces with other Somalis in the region) and it was music to my ear to hearing the Daroods in social media circles weeping their infamous fake crocodile tears of Somalinimo. However, when the Dir claimed them and Oromo are the same people, that put me off.

The Cagdheer in the region had a free rein up until now to take everything for themselves due to the other Somalis in the region being disunited. I though if all these other Somalis unite politically, they would be able to challenge the Cagdheer.

I believe, any good that came out of conference is tainted by the fact that the conference was hijacked in brothering the Dir and Oromo. I have nothing against the Oromo except that they are our neighbors and deserved our respect, but I think the organizers of the conference went too far in claiming being part of Oromo and that was fatal mistake.
