However, I am very impressed at the type of support she is getting, and how the attacks on her are falling flat after closer inspection. She is really challenging the status-quo on policy towards Israel and coming out with very few scratches and bruises, especially this time. The same motion to censor her is transforming into a resolution against all types of hate including islamophobia. It is not just about anti-semiticism as it was at first, that shows you the unique position she is in. Rashida Talib could not garner this same support.
For my fellow Somalis, stop being ashamed of one of your own being in a top position. As a people that is new to the west, we have had a meteoric rise in national politics that no group, especially colored has achieved so quickly.
