Sales tax successfully imposed in all somaliland sectors

Post by theyuusuf143 »

From now on consumers of the the internet, electricity,
and water will all pay sales tax , every time you top up your phone the government will take some cents out of your credit , same goes to electricity and water , Small percentage of tax will be added on top of your Bill. You won't even feel that you are taxed . This means somaliland won't be relying on the Port revenues and corporate tax . We can collect more from every faarax and xaliimo who use the above services .

Booyaduhu biyaha ma cirkay kasoo dhuraan saw ma iibsadaan , yagaa laga qaadaya cashuurta iibka yaguna adigay ku saarayan . Solar panel ku super market ka baa laga Soo iibsada , dukaamada waaweyn oo dhan mashiina la dhigay, hotalada iyo kaalmaha shidaalka. Hadaad ambassador wax ka cunto , risiidhka laguu keeno bay cashuurtu la socota. Meel aad cashuur kaga baxsanaysa ma jirto , adiga oo muuse shaani ku qarwaya , baa mushaharkiisa jeebkaaga khasab looga qaadaya, macaal xawaaladaha cashuur baa lagu Soo rogaya , si macaal dadka wadanka ka maqan loo cashuuro wax kasta oo ay Soo diraan.

Yusuf this tax you are talking about it Value Added Tax (VAT).
Do you know how many percentage is going to be?
Also how is it going to be implemented?
I don’t think any of the shops, restaurants and hotels are going to pay it.

I think it’s unfair to start taxing masakiinta who are already struggling with the high cost of electricity, and high cost of living in general.

It's only 5% , Ethiopians and Kenyans pay 10% to 20% percent. How come we can't pay that little money. Masaakintad sheegaysa daily 5 dollar bay qaad ku cunaan kuwa ugu liitaa 25 cents cashuura baa ku waajibtay rubaciiba. Hadaynu macaal qaadkooda VAT saarno. Waa kuma ninka aan 2 Kun oo shilling iska bixin karin ???

5% is ok it’s kind of low. I don’t mind the government taxing shops, restaurants, hotels and other services. In fact I would support it, because it would generate a lot of tax for the government and help the country.

However with the inflation which is very unpredictable, high cost of living and living in a 3rd world country. There are already a lot of masaakin people at breaking point, a lot of these families are already struggling, that 5% increase would hurt them.

Stupid idiot by the time you make these long smuggling trips your gas bill alone is three times the 5% sale tax.

No I pay way less. Cheaper port and cost of transportation is almost the same; economies of scale. Not only the 5% Bihi collection but overall.

No body pays taxes because no faith in the system. Only few guys use it to build themselves hotels.

Have you seen Hargeisa's infrastructure and roads?

And in Berbera you can pay few cats few dollars to get your goods to bypass all other clowns.
