That's not nessesarily true. Somaliland can be recognised through the African Union with the correct lobbying efforts. Somaliland will never be recognised first in Mogadishu. The way you debate in Somalia and outside of Somalia is different as they're completely different paradigms. Within Somalia the case is somalis are somalis and we should have one nation. We don't respect our borders and would invade all countries that surround us including Djibouti if we had the military and financial capability and there is no fairness or law. The law is every man using whatever power he has to get a hold of state institutions. If we go to Mogadishu the only option is to go there all guns blazing take as much power and karbash darood. The argument outside of Somalia is that somaliland is a sovereign nation that got its Independance from britain and has not signed a treaty of union with Somalia that was passed by both parliaments and signed by both heads of state. For a short period of time Somalia has defacto control of somaliland but through military means that was ended. Somalia has never had any dejure soveignty over somaliland. All academics that have studied this and all Western countries understand our argument. The reply is that when it comes to Africa and recognising states they allow the AU to deal with it and accept their judgment. And as far as the AU goes its a bunch of despotic dictators. Somalia has lobbied through the Arab league to not allow somaliland in the AU. Somalilands request to join the AU and the commenwealth has not formaly been rejected but is left on pending unlike seccesionist parts of nations like the ones that tried to leave Mali.
We are now lobbying though the Arab league and through Kenya to be admitted into the AU. Countries like South Africa and Ghana are already sympathetic to our cause. We simply have to tell our neighbours that if we are not admitted to the AU within the next 2 years we will join Somalia dig for resources and invade them. We have to tell the Arabs we will kick you out of berbera join Somalia and bring Turkey and China to the base and ports you've built. If we are not recognised within 2 years we have to join Somalia and destroy darood. The international community have to regret not recognising us and our legiminate statehood.
