And who was safe under marexan terror occupation of Kismaayo for 9 years?

There was isbaaro all over lismaayo under huraale. You folks were killing everyone and anyone.

You were land grabbing public property like schools, military bases etc and building houses.

You are in essense a mooriyaan who thinks he is on a higher pedestal.

Also in Gedo where you golks live like Celwaq or bula xaawo or luuq etc here are the other clans that were natives where are the Garreh,Dir and Raxaweyne? You folks are so intolerant that you pushed them to non existance in those towns.
Go learn how to live with others.
While I will say Barre as a principal detested "isbaaro" and he wasn't what we consider a warlord in terms of dhaqan xumo, I freely admit he was a warlord in the strong man in the middle of civil war Somalia thing.

Ahmed Madoobe is allegedly an "elected" leader in post-transitional Somalia. That's why we critique him.

If he would take off his cimaamad and announce he is only accountable to Mohamed Subeer as a tribal warlord, wallahi I will shut my mouth. I mean wuu is cadayn lahaa.

Why do you compare the two people or situations?

Similarly, almost all of what you said about Gedo took place early in the civil war. Unfortunately Degoodiye and our Rahanweyn neighbors were armed participants to the conflict and expanded the battle lines when USC came and temporarily occupied Gedo. When MX moved down to counter-attack and defeat USC, the consequences of USC's defeat also unfortunately included Degoodiye and Rahanweyn who lived in Gedo fleeing with them.

I do not endorse any of this and also you have to remember how crazy this time war. Rearranging where people lived was nothing as many of these Marehan fighting USC were also themselves expelled from places like Mogadishu.

Garre was different and was not a participant of the coalition that fought us. It s unfortunate the clashes from 10 years ago with some Marehan sub-clans but today everything is peaceful and they absolutely do live in Ceel-waaq.

There is actually a rotating system for Ceel-waaq mayor. If Marehan is a mayor, the next mayor has to be Gare and vice versa.
Saxib under Barre rule Kismaayo was wild wild west no functioning institutions. The thing is not about Barre but daqan xumida marexan which I will not blame it all on Barre hirale.

You folks used to rape women of other qabils,Kill plunder confisicate land or force people to sell land to you.Your touth were mostly unemployed and there would not go a day where someone was robbed or shot in kismaayo under Hiraales reign.

After securing Kismaayo marexan started ransacking tuulos of Galjecels around Kismaayo.Infact Galjecel suffered most under Huraale.Marexan using hiraales fire power would always try to dislodge Galjecel in Berxani and if their men were killed they would do ano qabil inside Kismaayo and kill galjecel.

This dude is sicko Walaahay. If he could just explain to us what Ogaden has done to him, maybe, just maybe we can provide some explanation. What he doesn’t know is that his fake and childish writing could drive crazy and emotion-driven OGs to act. To give you an example, I got invited to a teleconference in DDS a few weeks ago, and the main discussion topic was why Mareexan who border Makaahiil in many areas, doesn’t have a district in Doollo or Qorahey. Remember, the Shilaabo zone is part of Qorahey. It is Ina-Cagjar’s greater DDS Somali unity policy to basically placate all Somali clans at the border. People were talking about how Majerten used to have only Galaadi, and now possess many other districts such as Gal-Xumur and Bookh. For over 100 participants, no one wanted to hear Mareexaan and I contribute that to the stupidity of clueless folks like Voltage. For God’s sake, there are plans to create districts for Reer Xasan. What is wrong with this family that no one is willing to live side-by-side with them?
:mindblown: :mindblown:
First of all, that is way too emotional of you. Sxb I am going stop responding to you if your response is cuqdad.

I just find that funny coming from you. From the day you posted, you have been nothing but vindictive and malicious towards Mareexaan not even in a tribal sense but on a personal sense.

Still though, I will cease responding to you of you are going to take things so personally.

You said "my" childish and fake writing causes people to do things in real life which makes me assume that it was probably only you that made Marehan a discussion in your tribal conference? After all, you are the only one in that conference to come across my pointless writing.

That's some deep emotional stuff and I am not saying that as an insult. It actually makes me want to question how I could have such a negative impact from pointless writing here. Acuudi bilaah.

Kismaayo is under a petty dictatorship functioning as a puppet for Kenyan control. Suldaan Rashiid was one of the senior most well known traditional leaders not only in Kismaayo but the whole country. I still remember when he and the Marehan traditional leader for Jubba, Suldaan Mohamed Madoobe Yaroow led that conference in Kismaayo early when the Kenyans came asking them to remove the Kamboni militia.

When finally Barre Hiiraale fought with the Kenyans and Kamboni only to lose and retreat to Goobweyn, Marehan whisked Suldaan Mohamed Madoobe out of Kismaayo. He has been temporarily headquartered in Mogadishu ever since waiting for the Kenyans to leave.

I am personally a huge fan of a strong friendship, brotherhood, and working relationship between Marehan and Gaaljecel in Jubbaland. Soon a time will come for serious reconciliation conference for Jubbaland and I hope in that time a serious accounting for the murder of Suldaan Raahiid Dhuraa will happen.

Maybe because we refuse to be second fiddle in our homeland which is Jubbaland? Have you thought for a second that MX who have the biggest province in Jubbaland would be okay with 19 MPs and playing second fiddle to Ogaden when the construction of the state wasn't organic but backed by a country (Kenya) who our clan has enmity with like your precious ONLF does with Ethiopia? Lots of legitmate reasons brother.

And anyways, Reer Xassan aren't a clan to be taken lightly. We are a force in DDSi especially Libaan. As our Maxamed Zubeer allies, the deal was for us to get more districts in Ethiopia especially gobolka Libaan. Anyways Ogaden can't even handle Reer Diini, a jiffo hoose and you expect to fight ALL of MX on their own? You have the numbers, we have the caliber and quality. Big difference. We are good neighbors. Laakin we ain't the other Somalis you force to claim your lineage. Ogaden if they were such a force. Why haven't they made their impact? You can't even become president of Somalia. There's xeer against that.

Everywhere you go in Somaliweyn, Geeljres have boundaries and designated clan territories. Sheekhal, Cawramale and Galjeecel are disadvantaged by the fact that they do not have substantial deegans which can be recognised as districts. They never settled extensively in Lower or Middle Jubba.

However, they live in strategic areas like Kismayo District where the Cawramale and Galjeecel traditionally brought milk to the city and were on good terms with the urban Hartis who came to dominate the city in historical times. As for the Sheekhal, their lands are split, one section has its stronghold in the Hosingow area of Lower Jubba whilst the Middle Jubba ones have their traditional deegan around Xaramka where they had a notorious Isbaaro on the main road heading North etc.

In comparison to the more numerous Bantu, Ogaden, Raxanweyn and the Biimaal; they will encounter difficulties electing district representatives in a one man one vote unless they encourage their fellow clansmen to migrate to places like Jilib and Kismayo.

Django

Luuq town was the traditional deegan of the aristocratic Gasargude. Surre and Biimaal Gadsans cannot lay a historical claim to it. We lived there during its multi-clan days before the war. Some Gadsans still do but we Surres mostly left during inter-clan wars for our traditional territories East of the river. MX have kept to their side of the River since the early 90's conflict and there is no real beef between us.

So basically this means Gaaljecel is an older Xawaadle. Gaaljecel is Gardheere Samaale and Xawaadle is Mayle Samaale. Both Gaaljecel and Xawaadle live with Hawiye. Both politically united with Hawiye.

But Gaaljecel did this long ago so time has smoothed out the relationship with Hawiye which is why it is completely Hawiye today whereas Xawaadle really just became this close after civil war even though they were still part of Hawiye sphere.

As for Jubbaland and your designation; I think it is a double edged swored.

Like Zumale said, as Hawiye I think you could take advantage of the pressure that would be on any credible Jubbaland initiative to be fair to "Hawiye." As one of the two principal Hawiye representations, obviously you would be in a good position to capitalize on this.

On the one hand, as Hawiye I think you could also be possibly and unfairly limited by reflections of the Darod-Hawiye rivalry/war/bad history which could show up in Darod being relatively less fair and more inhospitable to you. I maybe Darod but Darod are like Somalis as a whole; sometimes they could be vindictive for tribal reasons.

But all of this would have to be addressed in a fair, credible state building conference where Dahir Amin Jeesoow for instance can stand up for example and say no, we deserve more!

That would have to be the conference that will be established in Bu'aale where security will be gauranteed not by a clan militia like Kamboni and serious international and national representatives can be there to credibly intercede for fairness.
Yes your right but our interests do not really align with hawiyes in the Jubba if I’m being honest. And when I say “hawiye” I’m talking about abgaal+ habar gidir. It Does not affect them if Ahmed madobe is head of jubaland for the next 50 years. It was hasan sheikh who legitimised the jubaland project at the end of the day.

Zumale,

Sure some Dir live in Luuq. Laakin today it's a MX degaan. We're the majority, the kuxigeen, the commander of the city and etc. The 90s saw the explusion of RX due to their betrayal of Beesha Barakaysan. We didn't have that beef with Dir. The demographics changed in 2007. We had this debate before. Gasogurde are the only RX allowed to live with us. All the Rahanweyn don't have the same xeer with us. They allowed us to settle with them. I have blood ties with them. But the other RXs suffered for the RRA choices.

I don't know if I should put a disclaimer here in light of Guhaad that says please do not take this personally, but you get the drift.

There is not a "side" of Lugh that we don't settle. We settle north and south, and beyond. We settle both the lands east and west, and north and south. To be honest there isn't even 5 Rahanweyn families present in Luuq or 8 families from different clans and it's primarily because of what I said above. Rahanweyn used to settle in a lot of land east of the river but after the defeat of SDM, there was an unfortunate consequence that has reshaped a lot of the land BECAUSE they became armed belligerents in a war Marehan considered an existential threat. Unfortunately, Marehan responded harshly as a consequence although, I repeat, a lot of them were just expelled from Mogadishu and elsewhere and were reflecting the time with the wholescale removal of Rahanweyn and Degoodiye from Gedo.

Generally though I will say Dir and Rahanweyn have improved a lot from the false mythologies they used to peddle.

"Siad brought Marehan to Gedo. They didn't live here. They didn't live there."

In recent days, Dir went to Sheekh Sharif and got him to declare one of those deegaans earlier I mentioned. They called it Bohol Garas and said it is in Luuq. At their prodding, he sent it to the UNDP so special attention could be paid to it.

The UNDP office responded to him and said they have come across no such location in their work there.

Now this is not to say Dir do not live in Luuq; I have Fiqi Muhumud relatives with Marehan reer abti that are from Luuq.

But the superficial, sensionalist, and completely fake stories the two groups peddled about Marehan origins and history in the land has completely settled because of digitial advancements and heavy digitizing of previously private colonial records.

They found a receptive audience in anti-Siyaad civil war era Somalia, but it's one thing for Marehan to defend themselves by saying believe me, it's another to say "ah look at this written record."

I don't ever see them doing this any more. I am a social media acquaintancr with the daughter of a well known Digil and Mirifle historian who used to be so unfair to us before. I haven't seen any new writing but in a discussion with her, her explanation was "I spoke to my dad and he said a lot of this information wasn't availabe before so a lot of gaps were filled with oral history."

Apparently not Marehan oral history!!

Well now that "historian" brought it on himself to be facing a record like Enrico Cerulli recording in 1917 that Lugh is principally the base of the Marehan who profit tremendously from the trade of Borana slaves!! (The slavery part being extremely unfortunate).

Just this week I came across the oldest map I have seen of the area with detailed clan reference. It is a map from 1896 showing Italian description of Ethiopian attack on Lugh.

Like I stated, yourselves and the Cawramale have a presence in the Mii close to Kismayo but can you confidently claim the Ogaden do not also settle in other Mii areas of the district further way from the city itself? The OG have also been emigrating in droves to Kismayo more recently further skewing the demographic make-up of the district. Unlike the Harti who are more urban and not a direct demographic threat, the OG can also transport their Reer Badiyo into the city during an election from less contested areas in Lower Jubba adjacent to Kismayo District.

I agree with you that a lot of the Kacaan Districts were clearly created in a biased manner!

However, you need to organise as a clan. We Surres have the same problem of living in disjointed territories. Either you relocate to Lower Jubba from the Lower Shabelle area where you have a slim chance of winning a seat in the Shanta Caleemod dominated district of Wanlweyn etc..... Or put all your eggs in the Hiiraan basket where you are already a force to be reckoned with. If all of y'all migrated to Eastern Hiiraan, I am certain you will be undoubtedly be the biggest fish in that pond. Bring back the Hadamo Galjeecel to whilst you are it but that is a long.....long shot as those guys have gone full Eelay along with other Samaales and Daroods in the Raxanweyn confederacy.

I don't claim anything that is not mine and I can back up what I say with evidence.

MX do not live in Eastern Luuq District, never did. Eastern Luuq District is Macalinweyne, Fiqi Maxamed and Gaadsan territory. The River is the dividing line.

It is funny that you are claiming that RX do not live in Luuq Town. Anyone who has recently been to Luuq will confirm that the Kormaraay neighbourhood of Luuq is split between Reer Xassan who live on the Western Side of the road leading to Qaburaha whilst the Macalinweyne live on the Eastern Side of the Road. Yet here you are claiming that one will not find 8 RX families in Luuq Town. Furthermore, ask the MX from Luuq about the neighbourhood of Idale as well while you are it, it is another Macalinweyne settlement. The North-Eastern and South-Eastern parts of Luuq town are now settled by Macalinweyne.

The UNDP have never heard of Bohol Garas you say? How can this be when a study conducted by the FSAU in conjunction with Unicef had already established Bohol Garas as a fast growing economic centre of Luuq District?
The main livelihoods of Luuq District are based on the land’s potential. In addition the district has a river which the
population uses for drinking water, irrigation and fishing. Few households do fishing to supplement their diet. Pump
irrigation along the river enables increased utilization of the riverine land in crop production. Production of food crops
like maize and vegetables, fodder and cash crops (onions and lemon) can contribute in bridging deficits in income and
food. The expansive pastoral land has the capacity to support livestock with high returns. This is favourable
considering access to Garissa livestock markets. The salt mining conducted in Bohol Garas could also have increased
returns for the district. Bohol Garas is a fast growing centre with many trucks currently passing
through to Ethiopia if fully exploited.

Irrespective of whether our lands in Eastern Luuq and Dolow Districts are recognised as Districts or not, the fact remains that you do not have any presence there. Name me one Tuulo that comes under Bohol Garas or Qooney that MX settle?
There are 44 sub-villages connected with Bohol Garas and Qooney
The SEMG conducted a brief assessment of the main humanitarian inputs received
by communities living in, and in villages surrounding, the towns of Bohol-Garas and
Qooney — approximately 7,000 households — between late 2015 and July 2017.16

Dude they killed a geeljire teenager closely related to Farmaajo, and before the news had been published anywhere I saw them on Snet bragging about it.

anti-sadetism doesn't only exist on Snet among the ogaden, it is widespread in all their social groups, media and living rooms, and they have no shortage of degenerates willing to carry out murder on unsuspecting people.

Your comparison is like a zionist who creates settlements in occupied west bank and cause harm to palestinians yet when critisized claim anti semitism.

Guhad is actually asking why there is no Mareexaan settlements in Doolo recognized as settlements, he is not saying we are illegally occupying the land, you comment as usual is misinformed gibberish that makes no sense, you must be an assimilated cagdheer bloody suju

FYI Guhad has a point, there is brewing conflict between Cagdheer and Majerten in Doolo which could escalate, and I welcome this, Marehan should stay out of it, let the Kablalax fight each other.
