Monuments or statues are a thing of the 1960's/1970's. Somalia doesn't need it. The restoration of Gurey & Sayid's statues would cost at least $100k; it would be worthwhile to use it in helping the idp's, digging several wells or any project that alleviates the sufferings of many in Somalia.

As I write, preparation is already underway for the erection of the next major taallo for a living Somali hero, madaxweyne Farmaajo. This huge monument will be located in the heart of Mogadishu, and is expected to be unveiled sometime in the spring of 2022.
