Nomand
It’s my belief that if there was no foreign intervention in 1992 that the war would have ended in the mid 1990s. The foreign interventions prolonged the civil war by giving the weaker parties breathing space at the expense of the stronger ones.
I would have dared to say the same then would have happened if the UIC were left to consolidate power.
Wars have a start and end. The tragedy is to prolong it unnecessarily by interfering to provide aid to the different parties.

Abdiwahab,
I'm not so sure my friend. Weaker groups like spm and rra would probably be destroyed. But ssdf would have still controlled bari and nugaal and north mudug. SNM somaliland.
The SNF would have controlled gedo bakool and parts of jubboyinka. Sxb these territories where there before the Americans came.
USC was defeated in gedo and caabudwaaq before the Americans entered somalia.
Islamic courts is another issue, I still think al shabaab would have splintered and defeated the Islamic courts even if Abdullahi yusuf did not come.
Abdiwahab I believe it was the Islamic courts that started the end to habar gidir power in Mogadishu.

You probably couldn't point to Sool on a map.
Nobody believes you have any inside information.
All your predictions have turned out to be wrong.
First you said Madoobe would be gone in days, then weeks......now you saying next year.

Kismaayo isn't your problem. Worry about your degaan. Stop following me around. Jubbaland belongs to MX. If you value your account. You'll do that or you know the consequencesoriginal dervish wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2019 5:32 pm You probably couldn't point to Sool on a map.

Okay let’s run with that. It would still be a smaller number if factions who would be in a stalemate which would incentivize them to make a deal. After every year, every group began to splinter. Clans began to split and compete as sub clans. Instead of dealing with 4 powerful men it multiplied to 12.
The UIC was the closest to consolidation and the most likely to maintain cohesion. Even if they fought it would be theocratic not clannish
The HG are still powerful in Xamar. It’s just not consolidated in 1 or 2 guys which is fine by me. I’d rather not have it concentrated in one or two individuals who can be dangerous ie Xasan Dahir Aweys
