Sahal and Abkoow remind me of NIN DAAD QAADAY XUMBO CUSKEY. Waa ilaahay mahadiis nimanki MOGADISHU SPRING haday maanta Khadiijo kaga soo hartay.
Wallahi I don't understand what is so controversial about what she said. I actually agree with 100% of it;
1. I am not in Mogadishu or Somalia and I don't have any authority there and even I know there is 0% chance of 1 man/1 vote..
In science, what regular people call possible is put to the test by probability so while everything is possible, not everything is probable.
1 man/1 vote in 2021 in Somalia is NEITHER probable NOR possible xitaa.
2. Nabad iyo Nolol is NOT a party. It is not even like Hassan Sheekh's DamJadeed or Sheikh Sharif's Ala Sheekh; neither of which were parties when they were in power but rather a united group of political actors organized around a common ideology.
UPD is a party forming from Dam Jadeed. Himilo Qaran is a party forming from Ala Sheekh. Tayo was a forming but now defunct (or dormant?) party.
Nabad iyo Nolol is A WAY OF GOVERNING that was grounded in the response to Farmaajo's initial term as PM when people saw soldiers get paid for the first time, the sick and and elderly visited in hospitals instead of ignored, the less fortunate and the displaced brought out from the shadows instead of hidden and left to rot while appealing for aid in their name.
It is a central theme of anti-corruption, benevolence, kindness, and end to the dog eat dog world of abuse where for example the minister isn't taking the check for the entire ministry let alone paying civil servants or the army general is not only pocketing the entire guuto's stipend but taking their uniforms and selling in Bakaaraha.
Khadiiji is absolutely right in saying she is a member of Nabad iyo Nolol which is a theme of governance that guides this administration but that there is no NN Party that exists that she is a member of.
If you disagree with what she said, please point out to me where there is NN party with Secretary-General and Party Chairman and membership roster. I would like to see them.
3. Which brings me to my point. WHO Khadiijo was talking to and HOW she talks. I know a little bit about Khadiijo as one of her best friends for a long time is a relative.
There are two men that she has given her complete political loyalty over her lifetime which have brought her to this empowered role where she is now one of the most powerful Somali politicians.
Siad Barre and Abdullahi Yusuf.
The guy who said her reer abti are Abgaal and that she hates Habar Gidir was 50% correct. Her reer abti are indeed Abgaal, but she doesn't necessarily hate HG. She always had lingering grudge at the way her reer abti disowned her mom and never accepted Khadiijo and her siblings. Then USC HG shenanigans led to the death of her son.
Khadijo as a member of an extremely ostracized group (Yaxar) who has received gross and despicable conduct at the hands of the powerful armed groups (in her case the closest is Hiraab armed groups). So she doesn't necessarily hate HG, but she despises USC powerful interest particularly the "mooryaanism" of the 90's.
Which brings me to Siad Barre and Abdullahi Yusuf; the only two men she has ever given polical loyalty to. She has said before the first time she ever raised her head with pride is when Siad Barre ordered her and others and announced there was no such thing as a caste system. His egalitarianism both with regards to GENDER and CLASS is what she credits for making her life possible.
I mean we talk about equal opportunity here in the West. It was actually punishable by ARREST for any Somali official to say to people under him or seeking employment "ADOO MIDGAAN/YAXAR/TUMAAL AH."
Then she saw it all destroyed and she was back to being stepped over. She became an MP in Carta and it was a continuation until Abdullahi Yusuf came along.
Say what you want about Abdullahi Yusuf (and I was no fan ilaahay ha u naxariisto) but oddly he shared some very similar qualities to Siad Barre; he personally HATED corruption and never took a penny himself although circumstances forced him to dish it out and Abdullahi Yusuf was cut from the SAME cloth as Siad Barre when it came to GENDER and CLASS. They were both oddly what you would call political feminists for Somali men of their generation.
The Tumaal of Puntland/Gaalkacyo vouched for him at Embagathi and Khadiijo as a leader in .5 was taken in by him. He gave her access and dignified her ar Baidoa. He taught her every sir he knew about all the political actors and he would use her as his middle person where she greased pockets and even would carry khat to change minds and cajole.
Khadiijo right now is the one people carry Khat to.
I say all of that to tell you she aint DUMB. This lady has been here as an MP since 2001 (Carta) and she expects to be there since she takes her last breath---she is the most powerful person of Yaxar so no one is taking her position as long as 4.5 exists and she is powerful enough she can easily win 1 man/1 vote MP position.
So because of her history (she is grateful to Siad Barre and Abdullahi Yusuf but those experiences brought her to mow where she doesn't have to depend on anyone) and because of her future relevance (why knows who she will be rubbing shoulders with in 2030---I mean she has been here since 2001)....
....Khadiijo is talking to her Parliament peers and saying in Xildhibaan speak "NOW Y'ALL KNOW I DON BEEN HERE SINCE DA 2000'S, Y'ALL BETTA RECOGNIZE I AM JUST TRYNA EAT, GAME BETTA SEE GAME, DONCHA TRY COMMIN ATCHA GUUR, IS I CLEAR OR IS I NOT? . SAY AMEN? GOD IS GOOD, EVERYDAY AND ALL DAY" HALLELUJAH!
Sahal, nin daad qaaday xumbo cuskey. Even if Khadiijo supports Kheyre, I and people who have observed her over a long time find no controversy to what she said. In fact I am like, do you ma'aam.
