Let Somali be spoken at home. I’m not brown nosing Carabta but lets just be real, we just got a script in the 70s. The Somali language I don’t think is equipped for advanced high school, college etc level education. How do you explain molecules, protons, neutrons etc in friggin Somali? Look at Ghana, Kenya, etc its English. The kids learn that and end up learning multiple languages. The educated language in Somalia was Italian but the Italians are gone now.


Arabic I think is the most realistic language Somali kids can pick up. Furthermore lets be real we live in the region so it will be useful.

You will very quickly end up like sudan and in the future Somalis will have identity crisis. It’s better to set a institution who invents new words from somali bases. Forget somalia, France next door is having a problem with english loan words corrupting their language

there use to be an linguistic institute to keep the Somali language up to speed with especially scientific terminology that did not translate easily. Beyond that we should use somalized latin words like majority of the developed world such as places like south korea, japan.

alot of scientific, mathematics was developed in the golden age of the islamic world but in 2020 arabic has been made obsolete by latin which funnily enough use to be far behind arabic in the sciences.

No, Somali & English, Arabic class can be a choice, like French, Italian, German & Turkish. We need to learn other languages, but Never forget ours.

All the math and science terminologies have been translated to Somali back in the 70s,
These terminologies existed back then too, and they were Somali Universities that use to teach this.
