When Somali corrupt officials want to earn money and suppprt/influence they facilitate for the local NGOs to carry out the EU funded projects to keep their reputation clean. it happens to see all the time N&N ministers facilitating contracts all the time and once some dirty ministers suggested to another minister who is well educated who dont like to talk about these stuff in a public place but those who r jaahiliin they dont care. Warsheekh, govt has not built the airport or managed the resources at all but southwet applied to the project through them like we do in hirshabelle but we r free for our contracts. most of the time they put condition to give the contract to the NOGs and their bussinessmen and gain money on that way. Ugaas hassan rejected alot of them saying we have our local companies who we trust them. infact the project was part of a large projects that were allocated for €19 million and one of them is the new Mogadishu stadium wich looks rubbish as well. after that Local NGO were given the baraawe contract . Facts ! Aid is not something good to start with, its susceptible to not only corruption by the recipient but interference by the patron.

Why do you think SFG confiscated millions of dollars by foreign donors who want to meddle in our affairs.

I agree with asking questions about these rogue NGOs and business people, but in the end it all falls on the government shoulders as it is their responsibility to audit them.

But we should not use it as a political tool to beat over the head of the government ie Farmaajo, rather expose the culprits and not let them get away with it.
