Well Somaliland now revokes "licenses" because of that incident

Somaliland has revoked the licenses of two UAE airlines for allegedly heeding orders from Somalia to turn back mid air en route to Hargeisa last month.

HOL has learnt that the two budget airlines-Flydubai and Air Arabia have had their license cancelled by Somaliland government denying them access to the break-away region.

A Flydubai aircraft FZ661 was forced to turn back mid-air on March 20 after the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) demanded it returns in line with the international flights ban which Mogadishu imposed in mid-March.

A source at SCAA had then intimated to HOL that the aircraft had declined to abide by the directive from SCAA but later agreed to after the aviation body in Mogadishu engaged its opposite in Dubai.

What I don’t understand is why N&N said Ethiopian airlines could still land and bring Khat and ppl back and force when everywhere it was stopped and all other countries airplanes stop coming to Somalia respecting the order.
So either Ethiopia doesn’t respect N&N and it’s restrictions or Farmaajo is risking the countries health for Ethiopia’s protection and presence in Gedo region

War ninkan wuu walanyahay. UAE has an airline ban. Fly Dubai recently came to hargeisa to bring covid supplies. Somalia doesn’t have a force field nor a fighter jet to stop it. Nor is it on political or economic terms with Somalia for Somalia to be able to make such a request. When uae flight ban is over they too will start flights to hargeisa again.

Hargeisa is one of Ethiopian airlines most lucrative flights not only for the Addis to hargeisa flight but for the seats that get filled on transit for Europe and other countries to Addis. They don’t wanna lose that. They don’t wanna lose that to Kenyan or Rwanda airways or a host of other airliners. Nor do they wanna lose their khat sales nor do they want to lose access to berbera. You think ethiopia is powerful but it’s not the only reason they can invade you is because you’re terrorists and khainul wadans who use ajnabi forces on each other at the same time. Jidkay kugu so geliyeen baad uu furtay.

Ethiopia cannot take a billion dollar hit to its economy. Nor does it want the security implication. Nor does it want to lose access to berbera and hargeisa airport. Don’t you get tired of begging foreigners.

I am really not trying to insult you, but have you ever led anything? It's not a rhetorical or superficial question either although I am aware the context could be seen as condescending, but have you ever though; even school projects?

I don't know what that guy Samatalis is talking about. But none of what he wrote is relavent or has anything to do with the facts. Whether Somalia has airforce or whether Dubai now has a flight ban is neithere here nor there.

He is saying the action didn't happen because of x, y, and z---- but the plane is being punished by Somaliland?

Does he not understand Somaliland PUNISHING means the action being disciplined HAPPENED?

Logically fly Dubai agreed with the wanlaweyn terms and conditions. There is no other reason we should revoke Their license. At the other hand Ethiopian airlines said fkk off to Somalia. Somaliland did the right thing. In the long time we should buy Share of djibouti airlines or get our own company. We don't even trust Somali owned airlines because they have a lot of business Todo with Mogadishu. If you own the plane and the airport , no body can fk with you.

1-)We know Somalia and farmaajo tried to stop any Investment like DP world port from dubai and failed.

2-)We know Somalia gov tries to takes every opportunity to undermine Somaliland Gov and it backfires.

3-)We know The SFG hates to see progression of Somaliland development

4-)We Will be tough with any Countries or Company who takes command from muqdisho in regards to Somaliland affairs.


5-)Even the so called federal states undermine the Somalia goverment and they have the audacity to govenor Somaliland affairs.

6-)We will not tolarate it any sabotage and provocation like this one will boast our self determination more and more.
