In 1952 my Maternal Grandmother was married to my Grandfather (who came as a teenager to Muqdisho with his cousin in the 20s & owned part of Afar Irdood) and had their first baby in Muqdisho. My Maternal Great Grandfather was living in Muqdisho since the 20s with all his children. (He would give a niece to Farmaajo’s father) My paternal side half lived in Muqdisho. I asked how live was back then, they said there were a lot of Italians, Arabs, Indians Back then & of course Somalis, but Muqdisho wasn’t as big back then. One Elder relative said, Non Italians weren’t allowed to enter Italian restaurants or shops, This & other actions inspired many Somalis to support independence.

Btw we got whites too in the uptown area called Xalane. Brits, Americans, Italian, Spanish, French etc. they have more influence now than they did in 1952

All of the folks who owned Homes in Mogadishu prior to 1991 and were attacked by drugged up thugs will all get their properties back and only then will a legitimate council representing home owning constituencies reflect the reality.
