To be honest one of my closest friends growing up was an Amharo kid who used to get beaten on the head with steel pans by his aunt who had custody of him. Ilaahay amarkiis he was put into a foster family run by this big Black Church going Momma Bear. It turned out she wasn't that far from me so sometimes I would ride the bus with him after school and we would go back to their place and other times he would come home with me. I legit remember one time my mom saying Daniel wuu noolaada after eating dinner with us. That's cuz when he was with his aunt he was starved wallahi and after he moved in with the black lady this guy was leaving left overs when my mom made him food. Similarly ANIGOO MUSLIM ah I never once did the wash your head, face, arms and sit up and pray before eating like I did when I had dinner with them (and this lady would go out of her way to make sure never to cook anything pork when he told her I would be over).

Point is sometimes God has a better life for you with those whom at first you rule out.

In hindsight, I should have clarified. I wasn't attacking Islam----actually my post was completely irrelevant to Islam.

I was attacking the idea of ethnocracy (which is really what Islam was being used for) as the determining factor for a good home for orphans.

Also, obviously I sometimes take the extreme position because Somalis are always so closeminded I like to shock them so we meet half way (I am basically saying yes, the Somali orphan would be relatively much more better in a Somali home than ajnabi)....

...even so I have heard such NEGATIVE stories about Somali orphans suffering at the hands of Somali adoptees here in my own town I don't really believe any Somali kid is better anywhere outside of their parents's house unless and until we see them there with no problems.
