The fabled Fart Town has been at peace with its name for centuries and is not in the mood to change it now.

Samareeb is far better name and we appreciate Farmaajo for renaming the town, now the ugliest name of a town in Somalia is your hometown of Iskushuban aka Diarrhea town in Puntlandbarbarossa wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 10:29 am The fabled Fart Town has been at peace with its name for centuries and is not in the mood to change it now.

^ Incidently, the great Metropolis of Iskushuban, ( a town considered by many the cradle of Maryooley civilization) is slated to host the next round of FMS/Mogadishu negotiations. Hopefully, upon the completion of yet another useless intera-Skinny gathering, the Messiah will, in His infinite wisdom, bestow a more fitting appellation for this far-flung bustling town of the East.

Not surprising that a self-professed Farmaajo opponent should thus interpret the said name. However, a zealous Farmaajo supporter may have a totally different take concerning the signification of the name.
Samo= wanaag
Reeb= reebid ama leaving something behind. Therefore, the name Samoreeb could mean, leaving something good (wanaag) behind.

Fortunately for me despite being ciyaal qurbo like Farmaajo I am actually quite skilled in Somali, and I can tell you that interpretation is incorrect. Sama/Samo/Sami = Wanaag, reeb = left behind as in reebidAbkoowDhiblaawe wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:31 am What kinda name is Sama reeb lmaooo.

Dhuusomareeb = Fart was not left
Samareeb = Goodness was left
Barti Samareeb = the place goodness was left
Samareeb is indeed good name, you will come across some MX who make fun of the name, apparantly it was qoorqoor who came up with the name and asked the President to name it that officially. Its like how Wardhiigley was renamed by Hassan Sh or Sh. Sharif. That is all Kaftan with the Iljeex, if you know anything about the history on X.Dhusomareb, you would know my granduncle Gurxan Muse Cawl who use to poke fun at how HG talk, as in their lahjad.
its a Good name. It takes away the xenophobic root of the former name, apparently the traders from Ceelbuur who eat alot of Cambuulo were farting all over the place, and used to come to Dhusomareb but then leave again after they traded with the predominantly local MX. It used to be a trading hub and border between MX and HG, and will return to that state inshallah with this new GM and this new name. We have already reacquired most of our houses, all the old houses in the town belonged to us and some other Daroods, most were sold to the USC children, but today they have been repurchased as the place is not the capital of a regional state, the abandoned homes occupied by squatters have also been returned to the rightful owners. The issue of land is far more complex though, and HG are now the majority there.
