Ugas Khalif International Airport

Post by sahal80 »

it's a set of 4 buildings the one inside is the old one. I'ts much better than those in Gobolada dhexe but there are plans to make a new one with a modern terminal.

It is a shame that such a modern airport cannot boast of a single firetruck and had to, in fact, resort to baaldiyo biyo ah in a vain attempt to put out the fire in the recent Beletweyn airplane crash.

The green light has been given for the airport to be upgraded in several months with a 2km paved runway and new ifrastructure. Apparently, airside lighting will be installed. That would make it the only other airport aside from Muqdisho with a capacity for night flights. Probably due to the fact that the largest IC base in the central region is in Beledweyne.

The proposed site for a new runway is much near to the city its in ceeljaale bc i see the security tower. probably because the old one is an area around the streams known as sabadcaano plain(waadiga sabadcaano). these streems were putting the airport at risk of closure also we need the old one while they construct this one.

4 sabadcaano(airport) 3 jantakundisho. new airport in ceeljaale halfway between 4 and 1 .

you can see sabadcano in this map. airport is away 4km from the highway but its next to alot of mountain streams
