In the civilized world people usually enter politics after having some degree of success in their life before politics. They're usually educated in renowned institutions, make a very nice living, be it business owners that employ people, Attorney's, CEOs, etc. Their home lives are usually stable, and they campaign with their Wives, children clearly visible. They're also usually involved heavily in the community they want to represent, before they try to represent them. Contrast this with Somalia:
-Most Mps have a non-existent, to dysfunctional at best family life. They most probably left a Mother high, and dry somewhere to raise kids on the welfare system. The Xildhibaan gig is actually a means to get a younger wife in Somalia. Tell me how is a man who is Ghayr Masuul with his family, going to be diligent in being responsible for a whole region's welfare?
-These MPs are usually uneducated. If they can read English, Somali at a 6th grade level it's a miracle.
-They're usually unemployed before politics, or work very menial jobs that have absolutely zilch to do with the actual job they are signing up for in the Somali Government.
-These MPs usually have foreign passports, and did not spend any time in the community they claim to represent before they were elected, and definitely not after.
I know this is very naïve, will never happen but in a perfect world I'd propose future Somali Governments have background checks. The following criteria has to be proven, or their application to be Xildhibaan or any sort of Government official will be rejected:
-A College Degree from a known University. No shady fake degrees from India, or elsewhere.
-A proven track record that you have been providing for your wife, and family.
-Must be employed in a professional job, that is in the sector you wish to gain employment in the Somali Government.
-Must spend 2 years in the region you wish to represent, prior to seeking to be an MP.
Major Non-Discussed Problem Concerning Somali Governments

I am absolutely agree with you, on top of that, any incumbent President shouldn't be allowed to run second consecutive term. He should be only allowed to run after 3 terms by the time his term ends. Meaning any Presdient, after completing his/her term, he/she has to step down and wait 12 years before he can run second term. Trust me that 'll spare us a lot of squabbles and headaches.
Re: Major Non-Discussed Problem Concerning Somali Governments
Agreed, also a like minded and professional, the president and government should not put all their Qabiil, friends and relatives, but pick people from all walks of life, can do the job and fix Somalia, We must do the things the modern world standard and up to date people with right qualifications, good track record and background checks very important
Re: Major Non-Discussed Problem Concerning Somali Governments
Could you elaborate 'modern world standard'? From what I understand, the presidents of the 'modern world' employ 'their Qabiil, friends and relatives' and a few 'people from all walks of life.' For instance, most cabinet members of the US government are former friends of the president. It makes sense 'cause you need a familiar face, someone loyal, someone you can trust. On the other hand, president Farmaajo has employed many who aren't//weren't his friends, some who backstabbed him after they were fired, like Sanbaloolshe, Godah Barre, Abdi Aynte & others. Farmaajo's own clan has complained about him doing nothing worthy for them. So, in a sense, Farmaajo and his gov is better than many govs of the 'modern world.' Somalia should do things in its own unique way that suits the country & its people, not the way of 'the modern world standard.'gobdoon wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 2:44 am Agreed, also a like minded and professional, the president and government should not put all their Qabiil, friends and relatives, but pick people from all walks of life, can do the job and fix Somalia, We must do the things the modern world standard and up to date people with right qualifications, good track record and background checks very important

Paperino,
Farmaajo did not select the mps, regional governors, or the senators. The most major problem is the lower house chamber mps. You could say Farmaajo picked the PMs (Kheyre, Rooble) who appointed Ministers that are actually vastly improved over the past few years.

It's rich to say that Farmajo have been planning for 4 years the way things are currently total dead lock and grubbing power again as totalitarian leader
He funked the Parliament like getting rid of Jawari and making it his mouth piece
Not organising and hindering a timely election and above all not finishing and blocking the conistitution

How is Farmaajo ‘Hindering’ a timely election? Technical committees comprising all the regional Governments reached and agreement in Baydhabo, and all that is left to do is meet, and sign. Madoobe, Deni refused to attend yet Farmaajo is ‘hindering’ the election? It’s okay to make self serving posts that fit your narrative, we all do but the least that can be asked to to do it more intelligently. To think you are actually one of the more sensical Puntland posters is kinda scary.
Re: Major Non-Discussed Problem Concerning Somali Governments
Yes, our so called leaders don't even have the reading levels of a sixth grader, have you also noticed Somali men become libaax when it comes to flexing on their own, but let it be an African or white suddenly they're subservient, docile and meek?
