if you are in a new area which you have settled you will of course have to assimilate to not be an outcaste and treated as a langaab. their own gadabursi brothers even say that they are related to celi marexan. there are many many other celi that we still know and recognize iyo ayaga way ogyiihiin but they keep is quiet or it will cause suspicion. anyway who calls themselves celi without a proper reason it is not even a somali name and the only clan with an explanation is celi marexanJimbie wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:44 pmThey are Celi warwarjecle they even use the same symbol we use to mark our camels which is Dhiil, the Celi in dambal, borama use Dhiil to mark their camels just like we doThecoolguysomali wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 6:37 am Celi marexan waxay ka qayb galeen caleema saarka suldaanka beelaha celi samaron oo ka dhacay magalada danbal gobolka sitti

I have seen many clans with Celi name. I can prove it's somali name because we have Celi Arab in our isaaq clan . Beesha abgaal has also Celi cumar subclan. Many others do exist. It can be a very old name.

You don't know tariikhda magaca. This name comes from when howrarsame killed the king of darood. Hussein warwajecle kept telling him to return and bring a new mag and thus was given the nickname "celi". Celi marexan were mentioned to have been the clan that fought the most in Adal in in the 17th century marexan lived in southern somaliland and nogob areas a lot of the marexan left to the south to areas like galgaduud and wardher but celi decided to stay and spread out to areas like somaliland and awdal that is why they have been discovered in gadabursi and besides isaaq have mixed up DNA results which proves that different people settled in Somaliland the evidence is clear. Do you really think it is a coincidence that celi have been discovered in dembel and borama and they live in somaliland but are seperate? Even tartar himself said isaaq is a confederation.theyuusuf143 wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 1:24 amThecoolguysomali wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:52 pmif you are in a new area which you have settled you will of course have to assimilate to not be an outcaste and treated as a langaab. their own gadabursi brothers even say that they are related to celi marexan. there are many many other celi that we still know and recognize iyo ayaga way ogyiihiin but they keep is quiet or it will cause suspicion. anyway who calls themselves celi without a proper reason it is not even a somali name and the only clan with an explanation is celi marexanJimbie wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:44 pm

Relax bro this celi thing is not unique for any particular clan. Abgaal , isaaq , gadabuursi, mareexan and many more has celi subclans . Those clans do not even share very close deegaan. It's like me discovering a qabiil with isaaq name then claim that they belong to us. I think you have to learn all the clans with that name to better understand the subject.

I have already provided proof that the celi of gadabursi are marexan and the fact they have accepted each other as for isaaq awdal they are really close to each other so there is a clear connection and the tariikh proves this more but anyway there are already isaaq who know their origin . Many somali clans are confederationstheyuusuf143 wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:07 am Relax bro this celi thing is not unique for any particular clan. I think Celi Marehaan are Dir. There abtirsi is Celi Habar Warwaajecle meaning they are of bah Habar jeclo. There was definetly a Connection between the Marehan and Dir tribes. And than the abtirsi goes on Amaan reer Isaaq. However many Marehan clans are definetly not related to Celi Marehan, if they turn out to be Dir. Also Sameroon and Marehan are the only two tribes that are called reer Sade. Sameroon abtirsi is reer Ghadasid meaning the Sade people. Marehan call themself ree Gedo and reer Sade, which basically means reer Ghadasid.
