There is probably no oil in Somalia. After Kenya failure offshore in Lamu, probably no oil offshore either.

Almost 100 years of evidence exists now.

The Italians, the British, the Americans, the Russians, etc.

I have read almost 100 results from 100 attempts and it was all unsatisfactory.

But Santa Clause is considered real by children for a reason Fantasy is nicer than reality.

And if there is, it is probably in Gedo or Bakool, the only regions in the Mandera-Lugh Basin where Ethiopia and Kenya have had success drilling. The Ethiopians and Kenyans similarly have had the same obsession search their Somali Regions. They only found anything substantive on the border with Bakool (Ethioia) and the border with Ceel-waaq (Kenya).

But even that doesn't give me any confidence now that there is oil in Somalia or that it is of the quantity we need.

There is probably no substantial oil in Somalia. It is time to invest in a different fantasy

How about teaching our kids how to code?

I don't know about Gedo and Bakool but there is definitely oil in northern Somalia and offshore.

What about fishing and farming. Somalia has an abundance of fertile soil and a long coastline. From what i have seen, billions are made from somalia's seas through illegal fishing.

The only place in Somalia that have proven oil are offshore xamar, kismayo, Gedo and Sool. Other than that, it’s fake news.
