hey...

with all the discussions about whether we are arabs or not.... i had recently been to numibia where i met nubians. let me tell you that they are very, very close to somali people. even their language Shocked

and, their music... omg !

nubians = sudan.....although the 'nubians' controlled egypt for a century, they have lil power in history....

the Axum empire is somethin u might want to read more about...Axum = eritrea and tigrey...they were kicking arabs ass's for 1,000 years..

We might just be nubians.

As you all now somalis are southern cushites,closely related to Oromos,Afar and Sidama.
Many historians including the famous turkish/Greek Muhammed Megalomattis believe that the southern cushite cluster immigrated from Nubia during the first Nubian Empire, when it was under Egyptian influence
sometime in the 1000BC.

The reasoning behind this is that the beja who live in northern sudan and Eritrea have closer linguestic and cultural ties with the oromo/sidama group other than the other cushites, suggesting a northern origin..
Somalis must have split from this group and became distinct after the arival in southern ethiopias lake tana area.

Ive seen Genetic studies on the diference between somalis, northern ethiopians and other africans.

I will post it here after i find them again.
Id like to see studies done on different somali clans, and studies comparing somalis and oromos.

Somalis genes are 15 % Caucasiod
5% subsaharan and
80% distinctly Cushitic.

Tigrayans/Amhara are 45 % Caucasiod
5% subsaharan

Dont worry most of it is from the ice age, not recent arab blood.
Funny thing is the Highland ethiopians have more arab blood due to centuries of massive immigration from yemen.
Starting from 1000-900 BC when they were part of the Sabean empire.
