Ask yourself this, why would any government on earth give up its strategic national assets to please a clan?

Hawiye in particular and Somalia in general stands to gain zilch from an independent Somaliland.

There is really not that much money in it , unless you are happy with the western handouts. In somaliland we don't have culture of relying on foreign funds. We survive with what ever tax we can gather from our peaple. We are fine with the status quo as long as the government of Somalia is not very hostile towards us.

And we get our fair share of what ever you guys are cooking in xamar without doing any heavy lifting. The only problem we have with the status quo is these dooros invading our eastern borders. And we have a solution for that , the solution is nothing but war and the place will always be disputed , no matter who controls it.
