Gedo Region's triumph over the Mogadishu cabal; forcing surrender on air embargo from HSM/Mahad Salaad/Hamza.

For over a week now, NISA's Mahad Salaad had stopped/embargoed all flights to Gedo Region acting on the "orders" of a directive from the Prime Minister, Hamza Barre, who was merely a "rubber stamp" for the man who has been obsessed/preoccupied with trying to compel Gedo Region; the man titled President, Hassan Sheekh Mohamud.

Governor of Gedo Canjeex remarks on the Mogadishu cabal having embargoed Gedo Region stopping flights;



Using the standing position of Gedo Region regarding a ban list for individuals and entities affiliated with the Madoobe outfit in Kismaayo flying to Gedo, the Mogadishu cabal instituted a challenge whose real purpose was broad daylight heist to negotiate Gedo Region's airport TAXES, i.e compromise on the taxes and we will withdraw the challenge releasing flights to Gedo Region.

Gedo Region's position to the challenge was summed up by regional spokesman Karar Aadan;



"We will not give you a single $1 from Gedo Region, not from our airports, not from anything else. When fhe nation has a single tax policy and infrastructure we will, but until then we will not give you 1 single shilling even if you never release flights until the duration of your term of office!"

Mogadishu has surrendered in the face of this rock solid, non-negotiable position by Gedo Region's iron stand.

They have released all flights to Gedo Region and have even accepted an official ban list of entities and individuals representing Kismaayo that cannot board any flight from Mogadishu to Gedo.

The ban list includes;

1. Jubbaland VP Mohamud Sayid Adan
2. Jubbaland Interior Minister Yusuf Osman 'Dhuumaal'
3. Mohamed Abdi Oogle
4. Mukhtar Kaamil
5. Ahmed Hassan
6. All '19' pretenders to Gedo Representation in the Jubbaland Parliament
7. All other affiliates/agents/actors linked to Madoobe Kismaayo outfit to be chosen by the Gedo Region administration in the future

I applaud the Gedo Region's resolve that brought about this continuing triumph over the bad faith intent and spitefulness of the morally and ethically bankrupt Hassan Sh Mohamud gansterism masquerading as "national" government.

Regarding their obsession with Gedo Region travel taxes, Gedo Region is the single largest component of whatever forms Somalia's "domestic air travel industry."



I relayed the personal experience of one of my flights from Mogadishu to Dollow which transited in Bardere;

Might I also add those routes are also the most filled, trafficked.

For example, on my flight from Mog-Dollow, I randomly kept hearing Swahili speakers and came to find out since Turkey and Qatar went to Mogadishu Airport, many northern Kenya/southern Ethiopia folks from outside the region went to Mogadishu connecting to DOLLOW, GEDO and then utilized Marehan regional shuttles taking them from Dollow to Mandera or Moyale or Filtu in Liban since neither Kenya nor Ethiopia had real passenger service to that wide location.

It provided a totally new market with ridiculous Marehan monopoly over this neglected service in such a wide regional area between 3 countries.


Just imagine the airplane would fly from Mogadishu and it would go to at least 2 destinations in Gedo (on my route going to Dollow we transited quickly in Bardera--one of the folks that got off was my seat neighbor from Holland whose family was doing amazing stuff in cooperative farming, young rer Ugaas Shermaarke guy) where on that same day Gedo would see more passenger service scheduled and in hundreds and hundreds of kms of ETHIOPIA and KENYA, they weren't providing 1 even to a wide space with perimeter from Nageyle to Mooyaale to Wajir and everything in it from Filtu to Mandera was paying taxes at Dollow, Gedo and utilizing these Marehan passenger shuttles ferrying them throughout the region.

All made possible by this community building their airports 1 by 1 with zero investment by government in infrastructure prior to civil war and even disproportionately being one of the least recipients of donor development funds for recovery in the last 20 years.

Those are real 'passengers.' That's real passenger 'service.' They pay real 'taxes' (as I did). That's real 'money.' THAT'S A REAL 'INDUSTRY.'

This is an example of how Gedo Region built Dollow's Dawa Airport through community self-help "iskaa wax u qabso"



That is organic community driven and created "industry" bringing in actual revenue beyond the actual airport.

Mogadishu did not contribute 1 shilling making this possible. For them to try to then "compel" Gedo Region on any matters relating to proceed is the literal definition of TYRANNY.

Gedo Region's administration would have been intolerably negligent were they to evem continence "compromise."

Since Hassan Sh Mohamud doesn't want to be president for all of Somalia, then Gedo Region considers itself outside his "factional" authority.

Government is a "contract." The contract exists so long as it is equally adhered to by 'all' parties.

Hassan Sh Mohamud is in "breach" of the contract.
