Muhammad was the Seal of the Prophets, and he came to correct the scriptures that had been corrupted by the Jews and Christians.
Most of these distortions were borrowed from or invented by ancient pagan beliefs. Strong similarities can be observed between this Pauline Christianity and Mithraism, Buddhism, and the polytheistic beliefs of ancient Egypt.
By the 7th century CE, when Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent, only a few groups of disciples were perpetuating the original message and teachings of Jesus. The Gospel revealed to Jesus had disappeared, just as the Torah of Moses had before him. These texts had been replaced by the Old and New Testaments, written by different human authors, chosen and recognized as sacred by the ecumenical councils of the Church, several centuries after the death of Jesus.
It was therefore high time to re-establish the Creator's eternal guidance for all humanity, but this time in a definitive and eternal form, through the Quran and its detailed teachings, as well as the living example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
According to Islam, Jesus was the Messiah sent to Israel to bring a new revelation (the Gospel). He was born of a virgin, performed miracles, and will return at the end of times. He is also the most frequently mentioned prophet in the Quran.

True Prophets vs. False Prophets
Here are some criteria for recognizing a true prophet:
1. He must bring signs or proofs that far surpass human capabilities.
2. His message must appear to emanate from outside himself.
3. He must successfully complete his mission despite all obstacles.
4. His message must be supported by God to triumph over his enemies.
1. Applying these criteria to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), we find that the primary proof he presented is a living miracle, the eternal word of God: the Quran. The Arabic text of the Quran challenges all generations to produce a work as perfect and magnificent. Even the Prophet's hadiths differ considerably from the Quran. Moreover, the scientific precision of the Quranic references to natural phenomena, as well as the wisdom of its precepts,
far surpass the human knowledge and culture of the time of the revelation and subsequent centuries.
2. The message and text of the Quran did not originate from within, but from outside the Prophet Muhammad. This is evident in the way he is addressed in this extraordinary Book.
The Quran constantly reminded the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) of his obligations and drew his attention to them.
3. The Prophet conveyed the revealed message and defended it steadfastly, against all odds. His twenty-three years of prophethood were marked by immense trials. During the first thirteen years, he and his followers were persecuted, tortured, and ostracized by the pagans of Mecca. He refused all offers of kingdom, wealth, or any attempt to reconcile his message with their pagan beliefs. The following ten years, after his migration to Medina, were marked by a fierce and continuous struggle to spread the faith, with constant battles against the hostility of the Arab tribes and the Jews of Medina, as well as the beginnings of a confrontation with the powerful Roman and Persian empires. His personal life was the simplest and most ascetic of his contemporaries.
4. Despite their poverty, physical weakness, and lack of military and technical experience, Allah supported him and his first followers, granting them unexpected victories. His message was embraced and spread rapidly to the four corners of the world. No human being could have such a destiny unless they were a true messenger of God, and he certainly was. Allah rewarded him for the sincerity of his message and for his commitment to the salvation of all nations and all generations.
Who are the false prophets?
There are two categories of false prophets:
– Those who, guided by their own fantasies and whims, seek prestige, authority, or wealth.
– Important figures whose role is overvalued by their followers, who elevate them to the rank of prophets or demigods.
The first category includes those who have invented or modified a creed without authority or divine proof. Paul and others, followed by the Church, can be cited as examples of those who reformulated Christianity contrary to the teachings of Jesus. Similarly, in Islamic history, several individuals have sought to corrupt Islam from within, forming deviant sects such as the Qadianis, the Baha'is, and extremist Shiite sects like the Ismailis.
The second category includes several philosophers, scientists, members of the clergy, and other leaders, considered almost inviolable prophets, whose faith and obedience were blind. Examples include Greek philosophers, Marx, Lenin, Darwin, saints, Roman emperors, and their modern counterparts in the so-called New World Order.
