I just want to give an advice information to those Somali men who live in the USA.A year ago I came across an African American man who told me that he was released from the mental prison.I asked him what type of mental illness he was suffering from.He told me that he was not mentally ill at all and the reason he was sent to a mental prison was that he was sentenced for (I think 8years) after he was founded guilty for bank robbery.
He said chose to be sent to the mental prison because if he would have stayed in the real prison he would have been somebody's wife.
He told me "in normal prison there are at least 5 inmates in each room and it is one these who has to be a bitch for the rest.In mental prison things are different.You get a room of you own together with medication which you have to take every morning".
The advice I am giving to Somlinet forum readers and to all Somali people is to pretend to be mentally ill if you ever get into prison.The jail is just different and every person gets his own room.
