Six million is just the number of Jews who died in concentration camps.

I don't have the figures in my head, but I think the number dead on the eastern front alone was over twenty three million, military and civilians. Perhaps someone who has more time than I this morning can look it up, but I think the total figure is well over 30 million.

WWII was the great watershed of recent history. It was essentially a mad rush by countries who had been left out of the colonial period to gain colonies. (Japan in the Pacific and Asia, the Germans and Italians in Europe and Africa.) Since WWII, the colonial boundaries have remained, but the colonies have largely been liberated.

The liberation part would not have occurred under the Nazis.

If Germany had won the 1st world war, the middle east, Africa, etc. would not have been divided into little enclaves and the Othoman empire would have a better chance of survival.

What I do know is that Hitler was a serious racist who took his anti-Semitism very seriously indeed.
