I am shocked at how insightful this topic is? Wow-- this topic has lifted you up in my esteem i must not begrudge you!Yes, true--fathers do play a major role in a childs life or exactly-shape his character. In fact--all three people you mentioned were exactly influenced by their fathers, during their childhood.Most especially Hitler-- who i have read --was a tyranny of a man.Hitler was close to his mother than his father.(which no doubt explain the homosexual rumors that is going & that i am still researching. looool)

But his quote is most interesting.Hitler was quoted saying--'He loved his mother but 'respected' his father.Now the key word here is respect, naturally.What you find respect in, is likely what you get inspiration or influence from. Rolling Eyes

Hitler respected what his father was--& obviously emulated him. But he took it to another level--after all--- 'Lagabaarta' --Lagabaadiya'--as one wise Somali once said. Laughing

^^proves my theory... people who grow up with a strong father figure in the house turn out good. Especially girls. All the dhilooyin iyo ciyaal suuq you see are the way they are mainly because of bad parenting.

Fathers are a good thing but not necessarily needed. I grew up without a father and I am a working University student. I am a diamond in the ruff in Canada amongst the somali population. Then you must've had an uncle (maybe a "play uncle" Laughing

) who had the father role. I just think its important for girls especially to grow up with one. Just observe how Somali girls with no present father figure are. They are usually very loose.

NAH MAN I know a dhuloz lady who grew up her kidz who are idoor and they are all university students or educated people. NO father figure.

I am no special case wallahi. WHY? MY mother is tough as nails. I think thats what really determines the future of a child. My mother always corrected me as a child. Case in point I used to ask people like most skinnies do, for money, candy and what not. But when MOMS caught me doing that and gave me that stare Evil or Very Mad

I just never did it again. She would whip me in front of mad jamaicans etc Laughing

yeah maybe you're right... but its just different with girls man! I've been noticing this for some time now!!

But my mom is tough too.. she doesnt care she used to beat the shit out of me in public when I was a kid.. and it wasnt just a regular beating.. but it was like she had all this anger that she was trying to let out Laughing

) so I turned out ok.

My pops was workin in saudi arabia in a bank taking care of my sistas thats why he wasn't around but he was a decent father until he passed away Crying or Very sad

You guys are spot on, especially Xplosive, if Somali fathers was more effective and better father figures, we wouldnt have 1/3 the problems we have now in our society. Except for the few odd ones, most of those currupted dhocilo and ciyaal suuqin grew up without a father figure, and yes indeed, we are heading down the road of the African-Americans and Jamaicans.

with the Somali soceity, maybe father figures play a role, but not 100%. Its the whole community, from father, to community leaders, to the local sheikhs. The whole environment and sorrounding is what might lead a person to go against it or with it, to evil or good, but then again its the actual person that plays a tremendouse role, and makes the action.

In other socieities it may, and may actually be anything outside of the family that makes differences. Like Hitler, I have never read anything tht said his father had anything to do with it, but his mother was actually mentioned multiple times.

It all comes back to individual.
