The prophet (the finest human being to have ever walked on this earth) married a six year old girl, and penetrated her at the age of nine (when he was 54). You remember that little girl don't you? Aisha- the Mother of the believers?

So please don't buy into this notion of pedophilia that the non-Muslims have invented, and seek to impose on us.

It is halal (permissable) in Islam for young girls to have sex with their husband irrespective of how many years older he may be.

According to a consensus of the mainstream sunni scholars (the ulema) everything in this world is halal for the Muslim UNLESS specifically prohibited by the two sources which Islam is based on: the Quran & the ahadith. That said, there is not a single ayah or hadith- which prohibits sleeping with young girls.

So it naturally follows that marrying and having sex with a nine year old girl provided she's reached puberty is utterly permissable. To call this "disgusting" amounts to accusing the Prophet of being a pedophile. Is that really what you mean to say?

Additionally, it is not requisite that the girl (or boy) must have attained puberty to get married for Aisha was wed by the Prophet as young as SIX (see hadith below).

Let's not shy away from the truth my dear friend.

The prophet took Aisha, (the mother of the believers ) as his wife at SIX and had sexual intercourse with her at NINE.

The hadith:

" Narrated Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death). "

(Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, No. 64)

The argument that the prophet's era is different to ours is untenable and isn't supported by either the Quran or ahadith.

There is no such thing in Islam as pedophilia or child molestation. Either one is married to the girl he has sex with or he's not. If he is married to her, then Allah blesses their sexual relationship, and rewards them both, and if he's not, then he committs Zina, and must therefore be whipped with 80 lashes.

You're missing one crucial ingrediant from your arguement: during Mohammed's time marriage to 9 yr gals was socially acceptable. Since Mohammed was a man of his time, you can't really reproach him in that regard. But as a prophet to be emulated for all times, you got a whole different ball game altogether.
