Mr Barker heard shots from the bedroom, and Steven Green emerged with an AK-47 in his hand saying "They're all dead. I just killed them."

Steven Green, who has pleaded not guilty, is being tried separately

According to the testimony, Mr Green then also raped the girl and shot her dead.

Her body was doused in kerosene and set alight.

The beauty of democracy and freedom is that hese guys are being tried, it's a public trial, there's accountability. Unlike in Muslim countries, where this would be hushed up, or even condoned.

Liar. We all know none of the will be really convicted. And if they are they will get dishonorable discharge or rank reduction like those who tortured Abu Ghuraib prisoners did. The sad part is that his happens very frequently but it's treated as isolated case.

A US army reservist found guilty of abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison has been sentenced to six months in jail by a military jury.
Specialist Sabrina Harman was the last of nine soldiers to be tried over the abuse, which became notorious after photographs became public.

Harman could have faced five-and-a-half years in jail, though prosecutors asked the jury to give her three.

During sentencing the 27-year-old apologised for the mistreatment.

Harman said she had failed her "mission to protect and defend".

"I not only let down the people in Iraq, but I let down every single soldier that serves today," she added.

On Monday she was found guilty on six of seven counts by a panel of four officers and four senior enlisted soldiers after a hearing at Fort Hood, Texas.

Harman was convicted on four counts of mistreating detainees, one count of conspiracy, and one count of dereliction of duty.

She was cleared on one charge of mistreating prisoners by photographing and filming prisoners forced to masturbate at the jail.

With credit for time served, Harman's actual sentence will be just more than four months. She will also receive a bad conduct discharge.

Charles Graner, the ringleader of the abuse, was sentenced to 10 years at a court-martial in January.

Public trial my ass...this guys are going to get lean sentence like the guys who raped man in Abu Ghrab. If america wants democracy in Middle East than hand these guys over to Iraqs and let them behead them or hang them from down town Bagdad, maybe in the Green Zone..so that the American Soliders could see what Iraqis do to American soliders who cross the line. But that is never going to happen, because American soliders whereever they go they rape, pillage and abuse the locals... Vietnam is all you need to understand the american GIJO mentality. Mad Mac insurgents have never raped the female hostages they captured in Iraq...they might kill them if the ransom or demand is never met, but the onese they have released have never reported being raped by insurgents, unlike Iraqi female and male prisoners who have been raped by horny/Fagget American soliders. Even Taliban who held hostage female reporter Ridley for 3 months have never raped her or touched her.

They were found guity and sentenced to 1 year and some 5 years...that is hardly a justice to families who lost loved one and the onese whose manhood was taken away by horny homosexual American soliders...

That's admirable and to the credit of the Iraqi resistence, but insurgents and Islam are not one and the same. Islam permits the rape and taking as slaves of the woman of non-muslim combatants:

One year to ten years. Guess reading wasn't one of your strengths. And you can quible over the sentances, but they are a far cry from simply being reduced in grade or given a discharge.

Iraqis would prefer Saddams rule over what they have today, so please stop talking about Saddam Hussien. He is not charge of the country right know, your maniac government is and they have destroyed Iraq instead of bringing their promised democracy. I didn't once say anything about torture. You seem to be imagining things. I said Islam permits women belonging to the enemy to be taken as sex slaves. It is sanctioned in the Quran and was commonly practiced by the Prophet.

If you are looking for justice than hand them over to Iraqis, if not than don't talk about Justice. Because any punishment rendered by americans is lean punishment.
