You know, if someone wants to take offense, that's fine. Don't read it if you don't like it. But I find lots of things offensive. The Qur'an for example. Should the Qur'an be banned because I find it offensive? So, if someone doesn't like the book at wants to yell it from the rooftops, fine, have at it. It's a free country. But precisely because it is a free country is why it should not be banned. Now, concerning Iran, well Iran isn't a free country. It's a quasi fascist one. So obviously free speech is not protected in Iran.

OK
To tell you the truth, I watched the movie, and I am have not read the book, I mean I skimmed through it, and read verses, but not from start to finished.
the movie was great, but only as a movie, and the way they percieved Nabi Ciise was just plain wrong, but only to me.
like you said anything offensive to someone should not be banned. I am offended by homosexuals, but can I go and run around and kill or injure every homo on the street,
eventhough a guy did that in the new SAVED show in TNT. Man i love that show.

I haven't seen the movie, only read the book. But I did like it. I found it to be a compelling read. And because of it I did get the gnostic Bibles and read them as well.
I did not like the end of the book. The idea that the Templars found this hidden documents which are kept secret and remain secret is a cop out. And you don't garner power from secret documents unless you use them for blackmail (as it was suggested the Templars were doing). I hate when the phrase "power" is so misused.
But having said that. OK then ending sucked, and I do not believe there is a Holy Grail or any such nonsense. But OK, so it wasn't perfect. It was entertaining.
This reminds me of the Salman Rushdie crap. All Khomeini managed to do with his Fatwah was ensure a lot of people read the book. He turned a piece of crap that no one would have read into a best seller.
Oh, isnt he the guy that wrote the Satan Verses, I havent yet read those books, but Insha Allah I plan to. I have nothing against him, as of yet anywayz, but what the hate you have on him, unless its the fact that he is Muslim.
Satanic Verses-which is a true satanic book (don't bother reading it) was written by Salman Rushdie, while an American, Dan Brown wrote the Divicni Code.
