Genuine Question

Post by kambuli »

Please just a genuine response Smile

Last year I attended a wedding. There were girls who wore the xijaab. People danced all night..Those girls did not dance because they saw it as xaraam, at least that is what they said.

Then after a while an Arabic CD started playing then the two girls started dancing... belly dancing and all happy etc..

My question is;

Why some people think it is ok to dance with Arabic songs but not Ok to dance with Somali or English songs...

Walaahay I was like Evil or Very Mad what an ingnorance Exclamation

Maybe those girls were arab somalis or Somali arabs? They probably can't relate to somali music and grew up in ARABIA or have arab blood. Did you think bout that Sister Kam? Maybe they saw somaali music as not their taste. Food for thought.

They didnt dance in other music because they didnt feel like it..not because it was Haraam...and they felt more familiar with the Arabic songs.

But it would've been better if you asked them if Dancing was Haram or if dancing with music other than Arabic was haraam..obviously I am being sarcastic because there is no such a thing...but we have munaafaqs everywhere and all the time. Smile

Uncle,

Halllloooooooooooo, they said dancing is Haram, period. They shouldn't have swayed their arses for any music Arabic or not.

In my dictionary, they equivalent to those who add the "Abu" prefix in their SOmali names, just to be close to Arabistan

It's obvious that they didn't know how to dance to american music so they used Islam as an excuse which is stupid.

It comes from ignorance and brainwashing. I have an aunt who lived in the arab countries for a long time and she actually thinks everything arabic is halaal. I mean if you put arabic letters on a beer bottle, she would probably drink it.

"I know I would get my belly dance on "

Aren't you supposed to be a guy?

Walaahay, I agree with Qansa, there are people with that attitude.... These girls look down at the other Somalis that are dancing with a Somali singer... I said Somali singer... Can you believe?

I have no problem if someone says... I do not dance, specially with men, for religious reason for xishood etc but come on do not do the nastiest dance which is the belly dancing and then make us believe inaad tahay gabadh ehlul diin ah.... Evil or Very Mad

Either you dance or do not dance...
