I like this song by Saalax Qasiim Naaji. They play it at every wedding that I have seen. Here are my suggestions.......

1. Ruuneey by Maxamed Xasan Lafoole
2. Guur wacan - Wax qaade orginally ma kasaayi laakin hada waxaa qado minkoo boqol ladhaho.
3. Saalax Qasim Naaji song.......forgot the name but it goes something like:

shirkaan kaa amaana
shadkaan kaa tilmaamaa..... something.... Laughing

I su ck at remembering songs......

None.

But i got one question for all the Somalis music lovers...Why do all Somali music sound simila? I am implying the the instrument used is always consistence..although with an exception of an album that i ave expose to a while ago, i believe the name of the band was evagadro if i'm right.

TZ, It is the same with all music genres though. All hiphop sounds the same just like all punk rock sounds the same.

Qudhac, you are right man and thanks for the correction. Laughing The songs name is Shankaroon, right? It is a cool song. But Saalax Qasim Naaji has several good songs. I remember seeing him peform in ruwaayads.........was he in Beeneey Waa Run?

Here is a link to the song.......

you are right on that..but as you might have notice there is a sense of expriemental in instrument found on other generals. example in rock the major instrument used is an elictric and acoustic guitar and drums but there is an overwhelming instance in rock among other genre whereby there is an infusion of differents instruments other that known to that specific genre, but my critism of Somali music is that other than the actual lyrics everything seems to be same...and the other critism is lack of creativity today everything song i have so far heard seem to be a remake of an old somali song..
