Oh Canada Oh Canada: What a place
My trip to the land of the Canucks went well. After a gruelling 21 hour drive, I finally crossed the border. From the minute, I entered Canada I saw why Canada has been ranked as one of the best nations to live in the world: clean streets, nice infrastructure, good social services (Not 1 Crackhead in Sight or homeless folk).
Somali folks in Ontario seem to be doing well for themselves. The level of entrepeneurship amazed me. You could get any service you desired from a Somali: dentistry to legal services.
Dixon Road is quite the Somali hang out spot. I managed to bump into all kinds of characters. The Somali gangsta wanna bes were full of sh7t but stayed clear of me. The qabiil gang leaders who were constantly talking about Somalia while sipping Country Style coffees courtesy of the Welfare State. There were loads of chicks: Somali Ninjas, Hijaab & Jeans Xalimos, and Hip Hop Halimos. TDot does have some really good looking ones and upcoming stars.
The thing that surprised me about Toronto was how many folks I met that I haven't seen in years. Characters that I thought were dead started popping out of the wood works.
TDot is definately the place to vacation. The ON license plate motto "Yours to Discover" befits this wonderful city.
