Thanks for making my point.
Those were the only two blocks built by the Italians and it was not even allowed to Somali...Italian settlers lived in the only two blocks near the cathedral built by the Italians.
Two-Block

God bless Aabe Siyaad Barre

Mogadishu was industrialized and built to perfection. Siyaad Barre was so kind to ignore his own tribal homelands except kismaayo and build up galkacyo, bosaso, and hargeisa

History is written, no silly propaganda from jaallesiyaad website can change what has been written by multiple academic and news sources

That pictures or videos proves nothing, its a simple informative material for those with no knowledge about Somalia: Western audience.

Those who have basic knowledge of Somalia and its history know how things really went.

- The old port of Mogadishu was built by the Italian adminstration.
-The new port of Mogadishu was built during the SYL government rule.
-The airport and port of Hargaisa were built before the SYL government, and were later expanded during the SYL government.
- The port of Kismaanyo was built during 1960-1969, later expanded by UNISOM post-1991.
-The airports were built before the coup.

As for factories:

The sugar factory in Jowhar was built before the coup, the meat factory in Kismaanyo before the coup, most of the factories in Mogadishu were built or under construction before the coup.

What the military junta did was to claim the work of others. Most factories that were under construction during 1964-1969 were completed after 1970, and as a consequence the military junta lay claim to it, and took all credit.

i can understand why the maraaxans worship this dude. i main in less then 20 years he took them from having Boon status to a somalia tribe.

I'm not Mareexaan but I will take Siyaad barre over ruthless thug warlords and GARDHEERE JAHIL SEEF LA BOODE. Look what we lost that won't come back. Honestly, the first 10 years of KACAANKA were good to the whole of Somalia. Of course, they had their shortcoming but it was a decent place to live'; Peaceful

Look what we lost; the most beautiful place in east African coast

Somalia, if only Siyad would have built other cities in the same way he invested in Xamar.
But thats Qadar and funny way is to see how Hawiye jump up and down and rejoice for having destroyed the city.
The city was intact when Siyad left but was taken over by
Hawiye demolition Co what a sad fate.
