Wow, you have blue eyes? It's a good thing you never grew up in somalia, otherwise the other kids would stone you  .
I can just here them now screaming "jin baa ku jira!".

Both my maternal and my paternal grandmother (AUN my beautiful grandmother) had blue eyes. My great uncle has it too. My granddad who’s 72 has brown eyes. It’s basically to do with the melanin present inside the iris cells. As ethnic people age melanin starts to reduce and so their eyes get lighter and more blue. Its very common actually.

Dawwa Somalis are black, and I appreciate your crusade on trying to convince the arab-wanabe’s Somalis who don’t consider themselves as black. Lakiin this notion that Somalis are the darkest has to be wrong. We are dark, but certainly not the darkest. I’m brown skinned myself and I vividly remember going to hargeisa and noticing that at least 20% of the inhabitants of hargeisa have my skin complexion. This is no exaggeration. The vast majority are dark, and theres an even smaller minority who have very light skin. I’m not just referring to women, but men too also children. I can tell the difference between an artificial light skin and an authentic one.

So again, visit hargeisa, wallahi U will see what I saw.

There is probably a good reason why people in Somaliland or Somalia are darker then you. Their exposed to the harsh sun in africa for longer periods of time . Assuming you live in the west It would make sense that most Somalis in the West have lighter skin because they're exposed to less light. Basically people in Somaliland or Somalia have a deep tan.just my two cents

what a stupid topic..

your "two cents" will be absolutely correct. People in somalia live in a harsh condition, scotching sun, dust, bad nutrition etc etc etc --- that has a huge effect on the skin pigmentation. I am shocked and surprised that a seemingly educated person like Oxy can dash in the room and brag about his Psuedo un-dark skin pigmentation due to ---Naaso badaan' and the west favorable weather condition that makes him look a little mariiine. Oxy your sick deep desire to be light skin is intolerable. :x

Old people getting a bluish tinge in their eyes because their eyesight is going bad.

And I call b.s on all the people on here that are claiming to have green eyes/blue eyes, or who are related to Somali people who do.

Walahi i have relatives in somalia who have light brown hair and grey eyes *ranging from young to old*.

Btw the equater runs through southern Somalia, which explains why alot of Somali's are dark skinned, bring them to Europe and within days maybe even weeks they will turn mariin *their natural colour*.
