PO,

Thats what I meant man. Taking out the trash, fixing stuff, mowing the lawn (If I ever have one), carrying the groceries, any sort of menial, grunt/labor work I'm cool with as well as the bills stuff. Theres just certian ish I ain't doing. I remember when I visited My Grandma in Jeddah, I would go in the kitchen sometimes to make stuff for myself, and My Uncle was like if You keep going in the kitchen, gabdhaha in the house (My cousins) are gonna think You're Gay, literily. Just ask what You want, and waala kuu keena. Every since I've become a Old School Nicca. Besides, You talk about doing that for the "right girl" but Bro, I'm not asking the girl to do Man things because I'm the "Right Guy" therefore, I ain't doing anything out of character for the "right girl".

GrandpaKhalif,

Caabudwaaq folks are rolling in their graves hearing this talk SMH

that happened to my brother. when he went to Somalia, after lunch he got up to clean his dishes because that how things are done in here, but as soon as he entered the kitchen, everyone laughed at him. poor guy thought he did something really bad, but nah, they said to him, just ask what you want and the girls will get it for you.
few months later he came back asagoo leh war hee dhahayaa faraxal kii meeye.

and you know what the annoying thing is? women are the ones who have this backward culture. thinking that is wrong for a man to go to the kitchen. i mean what the hell is wrong with it if a man picks up his plates and washes them?
women are the ones that teach men shouldnt go to the kitchen, shouldnt serve himself, shouldnt even clean after himself. women are to blame. they want help but yet they teach wrong habits.

The funny thing about Somali culture back home was: men are always served first even before kids and sometimes the women who prepared the food don't eat at all :x ...

Lol @ Murax,,,that story sounds so familiar to many ppl i reckon.

I personally wouldn't advice any sis to get a husband from back home and neither do I myself plan to get a wife from there.

Yh, I remember that. But the Kurdish are even worse. I was invited by a Kurdish classmate in high school for dinner once, the women slaved all day making a huge assortment of dishes, presented them to us, then sat across from us near the kitchen and never joining in or even setting some for themselves as I was told. I couldn't eat walahi. I kept looking at my friend and his dad & brothers, they kept on eating and talking, the women sat there the whole time not saying a single word and just mean mugging the food. Horrible experience, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there and never went to have dinner with them again. Dude was like its cool, the women don't mind.

The Kurdish culture like many Asian and African cultures are male dominated and females have little or no say. But this is disgraceful. What you describe is shocking man.

What is wrong with women finding a husband from back home? many men go back home to get a wife. It is fairly normal thing to do if you cannot find a decent partners in these countries we live in.

Its still desperation doesnt matter if you are male or female.
In the west there ikhwanis, normal, and ciyaalsuuqs. So why would you go to home?
Its too much headache.
