Just say you guys got ur ass beat with no mercy, using words like dethroned

Another reason why u were "dethroned", ur noses r too far up ur asses

Thinking ur so great, u ppl from ghetto, u export goats for a living, come on buddy,

I don't see the japanese talkin about how highly they r and they created high tech giants, the 4G network, toyota/honda/and other car giants

I don't see the germans talking so highly and they are home to bmw/mercedes, and 5star high quality electronics and other products

I don't know why u guys talk so highly but the ppl dat deserve to talk so highly don't

U act like marexan is a gift from god

They aren't, they r poor goat herders from gedo and have been badly affected by the famine and only have their oppressive dictatoship to talk about

Its 2012 in 5 weeks..

Come on... Talk about something else instead of talking so highly of marehans, last I checked, they r either taking welfare and living in public housing in the west or goat herding...

Instead they talk about their "history" at a tim hortons

Hopefully a marehan finds the cure for cancer and ill gladly pat ur backs when u guys do that!
If we got our asses "beat", what does that do for the average Hawiye who has spent the last 21 years in hell? The clan Mareexaan has shown the world that only it is capable of ruling Somalia. 21 years we've watched you kill each other, 21 years we've watched you squabble over dusty towns, 21 years we've watched you utterly fail to create even a semblance of governance, and we laugh, for we remember our 21 years of glory and pomp. We've watched the "victors" exhaust themselves to near extinction, and we know that somewhere deep down in the recesses of their souls, they come to the realization that they were better off under our yoke.

We have been vindicated by history.

Hawiye don't serve no one. We created the business sector in somalia while marexans were implementing government run industries. We created one of the greatest universities in Africa today while ur universities in gedo have spelling errors on their titles

Plz don't compare the businessmen of hawiye to the goat herders of gedo

Hawiye contribute to the Somalia GDP much much more than Marexans and Darods

Whatever innovation u see in Somalia is because of Hawiyes, not marexans

jale siad was a criminal and when the world came crushing on him, he slipped into an exile and he eventually died on the run.

my only regret about him is that he didn't get caught and stood trial for his atrocities against his own people. and that would have been a much satisfying end.

also, anyone who attempts to tell me a different side of jale siad will only waste his time. all the things that some of you have mentioned above could have been accomplished without him and those things take less important role when it comes to the lives of human beings.

if you take a human life unjustly, your accomplishment in all the other fields will mean nothing. and that's true around the world. take an example: Facebook founder takes the life of a human being... do you think people will say "oh since he founded Facebook and subsequently changed the lives of so many people, lets give him some break?
i don't think so. and it applies to everyone. the moment you start killing innocent people, the credits for the things you have done for the country will be tossed into the garbage can because the innocent life your took outweighs whatever you might have done for the country.

i know people from his tribe will always revere him, regard him as a true leader and understandable so since they are doing the same thing he wanted every qabiil in Somalia to do---and that's to see the world only through the lens of ones tribe. i am not surprised nor will i ever be.

unfortunately, he was extremely successful in what he set out himself to do---instill hate among different Somali groups.

what we need to do now is to learn from history and let this unfortunate leader get past us.

Whatever he was or was not, that is all history. Why dwell on someone who is dead and has passed to the next world ? He did some good things and many bad things but at the end of the day, he will surely receive his fair judgement so leave it to that.

Using a man overthrown 21 years ago this January as a scapegoat for two decades of absolute failure flies in the face of reason. Countless dictators around the world fell from grace following the end of the cold war, men far more ruthless and brutal than Siad, but Somalia alone is still mired in conflict and Somalia alone has degenerated into becoming the world's only failed state. Look no further than the Derg regime in Ethiopia, led by Mengistu who was by all accounts a butcher (a one year Red Terror campaign resulted in the deaths of up to 500K alone, total death toll 1.5-2 million), which fell in 1991 to a coalition of rebel groups, much like the revolutionary regime in Somalia fell to the USC and other rebels a few months earlier. While Meles Zenawi has been the undisputed leader of all of Ethiopia since 1991, Aideed was killed in a tribal war against his own sub clan.

You cannot continue to blame others for your own failures. You've blamed Siad, Mareexaan, Daarood, Ethiopia, the West, the UN, Al Qaeda, Christian "Crusaders", Uganda, Burundi, and now Kenya for two decades of failure. Take responsibility for your own actions (or inaction) instead of looking for someone to blame for the state you've put yourselves in. You've wasted two decades and have nothing to show for it but refugees, famine, tribal skirmishes, and failure.

At the end of the day, can you honestly say overthrowing the government was worth it?

No offense but how does that make sense coming from a Marehan? That sentence alone explains your situation in Somalia right now. You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

It's quite simple really.

We've had our time at the top, but we've watched you try for 21 years and  as you attempt to emulate us right down to the red beret "Presidential" Guard of Silaanyo, Faroole, and Sheikh Shariif.

Like I said to the other guy, our "Booli Qaran" was f-king sweet and watching the rest of you fail to reach those heights even sweeter, following your treasonous backstabbing.

The fact that you're happy we're just another clan now speaks volumes :ugeek:

Let me make it simple for you so that your pathetic mind may understand. When we ruled Somalia it was heaven (comparatively) and now that we have been overthrown it has become hell. When it was a heaven, the lesser tribes used to serve us (marehan) and now that it is a hell they reign freely, and the militant ones are happy with their situation. Hence 'Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven'. Understand?

Also, do not ruin this thread about the new book on President Barre, peace be upon him. Siyad Barre was the son of destiny, the divine light that temporarily lit up the Somali nation. May his memory burn in our minds for all of eternity. :som:

What is Booli Qaran? Would I be right in assuming this book is "for Mareexaans written by a Mareexaan"?

All peoples, from Somali to Turkmen, will benefit from learning about the great president. Sure this book may have been written by marexan, but the somali script was invented by marexan too...has that stopped anyone from using it?
