^

BV, I'm in agreement with you, but I don't want to rely on the formalized and cold method of a contract, though it seems to be the safest method. But romance goes right out the door.

It's simple, you pay the mehr, you have a small, modest walimah. And Walla! Your married.
Are you okay with your wife to go to work after marriage? Walk around the xafaad, shopping, movies etc without you?
Are you crazy? My wife is not working, that is my job to provide for the family she needs to take care of my beloved children and raise them. Ma waalantahay whose she going with movies? She can walk around xafaad for grocery shopping. If she wants social life i'm her social life (or my co-wives)

Alpha you don't really understand romance if you think honesty and straigh forwardness about important life decisions take away from it. And OMG it just hit me you are talking about romance

Exactly so why not just make sure the person you are marrying has the same views. You don't want a workaholic or a xalimo wareegtooy

So, please explain what "romance" entails then, if a signed, sealed and notarized contract is needed to ensure the reliability of your partner's word. I'd like to take some notes, just in case.

You are mixing up the 2. They are not mutually exclusive, neither does having one negate the other. Romance is all about honesty and trust. So in this scenario you are honest about what you want in the contract and you trust that the other person will stick to it. Voila! Romance is in the air

Beans walaalo did you just say you will support your husband in finding another wife. That is the most romantic thing I have ever heard in my entire life, if that isn't love I dunno what love is. True love

I re-read it a bunch of times it can mean nothing else. I particularly enjoy when she says there is very little she can do, therefore leading to her wonderful decision to support her husband in this. Preach sister beans
