Acudubillah

This is part funny, part scary and wholly ridiculous

You guys actually see this as being demonstrative of a "good" wife? :lupe:

Well firstly the fact that we've read the same thread and you ask me that question.

Am I that out of sync with what is reality to others?

Consciously doing things to make someone feel incapable without you. Isn't that qayano and malicious?

Or is that what marriage is: a chess game of manipulation?

Abaayo seefta dhig. My question was to clarify your position rather than assume.

I agree. I don't think manipulating someone, particularly your spouse is the right way to go about it.

I thought maybe you also had a problem with servitude to your husband. I don't think there is anything wrong with that aspect with the right intentions (that is seeking ajr) and not because one fears divorce.

Seef ma wati ee I am in shock

I agree with you. Though I also have a problem with servitude to any human being, it was the chess game and long term manipulation plan that weirds me out and men congratulating this probably thinking that the guy is actually outmanoeuvring her by letting her think she's in control etc but how exhausting

My heart goes out to all the oblivious wives and wives-to-be of certain snet male users who judging by their comments on here, will probably hold their wives to a certain cyber-wife-standard. :meles:

While being that super-wife without which nothing functions is self satisfying/heartwarming/[insert reason here] ... its good to be mindful of the fact that we're all expendable, whether it be death, incapacitating sickness, whatever the case.... to leave young kids and husband dependent.... great disservice to them and those that replace you. bitter pill but true.

ps: This took me a while to write in the hopes of not coming across as offensive. hope you get my drift susu. no judgement from my end.

Sis, this is not scary, this is the ugly truth of the unwritten rules of marriage.

Perhaps servititude is the wrong word & gives offs entitlement (which has no Islamic basis) but going out of your way to do things for your husband is praiseworthy. I think marriage is supposed to be about being kind to one another for a harmonious house.

Similarly, doing things for your siblings not because it is your job but because being kind is the aim. :)

Walaaley that is scary. The world is full of people you need to watch your back against. My house is my chill zone, I don't have the energy or the will to be in an unending chess game

We all sasab people and have conflicting objectives lakin adiga shaqo aa ka dhigatey, like the rules of war marriage edition, see waaye camal

Bv,
Together we are watching our backs against foreign threats. I love my husband and I'm protective and supportive to the extent that I side with him no matte what ( even when he is wrong )
Marriage is a confederation of two states and a household simply does not function with out interior politics.

Just as a country can not function without politics and governing, same also applies to a household.

Take my slightly comedic way of portraying things on Snet lightly and understand that marriage politics is necessarily otherwise the house hold will be on the verge of becoming a failed state.
