Abdelrahman,
Save us the drama and Wikipedia "sources".
Read the CIA report not wiki that Bashar's Janjaweed online wing edited.
Sudan is poor country that lost over 40% of its revenue because of South Sudan secession.
Once South Sudan begins export via Djibouti and Kenyan port, Sudan will see another 30-40% of revenue go.
Then everyone will declare even more secessions.
Read the real facts Arab boy.
Africa for Africans.

If the thread opener is from Sudan...i would like to ask why the Northerners never converted the southerners? Seems like it could've easily been done through dawah or even force....
that so called south sudan is a place of non ending war for over 50 years... 2 years after independence, they went to war aganst eachother.... if thats a present for museveni he can have it

As for the topic both nations are poor af and politically weak and depend on Arab nations.
Correction, we Northern Sudan is a ''middle income'' country in accordance with the world bank.... but Eritrea , Ethiopia etc are the lower income countries....
south sudan was middle income until last year when they fucked up their country and joined the lower income class

as far as I know we are direct original descended from our Kushite ancesters, KIngdom of Kush was inside Sudanese territory...

Janjaweed brother,
You are right about the per capita but Sudan is still poor state. The so called lower Middle Income has many African states including Djibouti, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria.
So no big deal.
It is still failed, war-ridden and poverty stricken nation where Arab invaders try to enslave Africans but the Dinka and Nuer taught them a good lesson as did others in the ongoing conflicts.
Btw only the Beja are Cushitic and we all know they wish to secede.

Sudan has struggled to stabilize its economy and make up for the loss of foreign exchange earnings. The interruption of oil production in South Sudan in 2012 for over a year and the consequent loss of oil transit fees further exacerbated the fragile state of Sudan’s economy. Ongoing conflicts in Southern Kordofan, Darfur, and the Blue Nile states, lack of basic infrastructure in large areas, and reliance by much of the population on subsistence agriculture keep close to half of the population at or below the poverty line.
Btw only the Beja are Cushitic and we all know they wish to secede.

the funny thing is, Kenya , Nigeria etc these are all great economic power in the continent on the way transforming their nations just like Sudan is doing.
now that report you just showed without a link must be from 2012/2013 or something because Sudan surpassed that stage already of hard currency issues. We still have one of the top 6 currencies in Africa.
Large infrastructure projects taking place now across the country, wars in Darfur and Blue Nile are over only small mini pockets left in blue nile.
We are the 7th largest economy in Africa. have a higher per capita than all our neighbours except egypt and libya. have 4 million foreigners seeking jobs in our country. have huge natural resources etc...
we enslaved south sudanese, gave them freedom afterwards and what happened? they went down....
we might have 40% living in poverty yet our neighbors have 80%

If we are failed, then what is Eritrea or Ethiopia??
keep dreaming, Beja are complaining of too many horn refugees they surely aren't joining a country where the average worker gets paid a quarter of what a Sudanese gets paid

I would rather be in a lower income group where countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt , Djibouti and Morocco are rather than a low income with Liberia, Malawi, Eritrea , Ethiopia , Sierra leone lmao
