You guys, I think you should not marry your cousins. If you wanna marry your qabiil at least marry a different laf or something cause it is not good. Your kids could end up with genetic abnormalities. I think some people are getting too obsessed with qabiil and shit like that, they forget the biological implications. Like my biology teacher used to say, it’s better to marry someone your opposite, unless you wanna turn out like this.

San Dheer,
Its tribes not cousins, we are talking about tribes, like Dir, Daarood, Isaaq , Hawiye .etc. Darood marrying another Daarood won't produce and ape or wolve boys. You are confusing apples and oranges, cousin marrying isn;t a somali thing at all.

No, you mentioned at a sub-clan level or even sub-sub-clan. As far as I’m aware Habar Jeclo and Gadubursi are not at the same level as Isaq and Darood.
Anyway, all I’m saying is, there is a good reason why most Somalis marry people that are not from their immediate genealogy.
P.S. I never said a darood marrying a darood would produce a wolf boy.

As to marrying only somebody from your clan , depends on where you hail from , and where you currently live at. What are the chances of somebody living in Nth America actually waging war on his wife's tribe....ZERO. Bacda ha layska furo , ha na lays dhex galo , somaali waa somaali .If I had a daughter I would certainly like her to be married to a decent habar gidir than a fu.cked up habar awal , that's for sho.

Oh Shit! I typed "HannaH" as my password as I was thinking about the crap she wrote
The way I look at it, in an era where both somali men and women are going out with non-muslim somalis, it is better if a girl thinks about marrying a somali no matter who he hails from clanwise. I wish them good luck.
Lady_Qac.
Sis, you don't have to change your mind. Just make sure that Gudabiirsi guy is one who will take care of you and will respect you. There are a lot of important issues a woman has to take into consideration before she gets married to someone. It also depends on how liberal your parents are and their views about potential husbands you might come home with to introduce to them. On the other hand, A guy like me, who was raised to pursue his interests and decide everything on his own, won't worry or care about what tribe his wife will be. It is actually immoral for a somali man to consider a somali woman's tribe before he takes interest in her. Such men do exist and those are the kind of somali men you don't want to marry indeed.
Anyway, do net working in your community to have a better chance of meeting a good man from your clan.
