Sadam and dowlad....who told you Muxiyadiin is a Somali name ?/ kulaha Muxiyadiin is an abgaal name???
Its NOT even Somali... ..the other thing is.. A name does not belong to a Single Clan!!! So stop linking people to clans because of their names...

Yes as soon as possible, under one condition that they change their name to something that does not have the name "Somali" in it. Off the top of my head may be they should call it "Issaqland".
If anyone needs to change its name its Koonfur who brought shame to Somali name the last 17 years, not Somaliland. Somaliland is also 100% Somali unlike Koonfur that is populated by none Somalis like reer Adoons and Barwanees. Also before you call Somaliland Isaaqland you should atleast check who Somalilander elected president twice.
Look, Somaliland is the best example of how a secessionst's best power comes from blind followers. Its also Ironic how one want to keep the name that he/she feels ashamed of and don't want any part in. Koonfur might have major problems but they are certainly not shamed of who they are. Somaliland is a case of "Extreme Cuqdud" gone bad. That only shows your true colors. Koonfur will always be proud to be Somali thru thick and thin. As for the elected idiot for S/land president...its called a political mind game son. The Issaq themselves don't trust each other, therefore they had to make this guy the boss. But I would love to see what happens after or if you get your independace. Which by the way I"m all for.

Re: Sould the World legitimize the Independence of Somaliland?
what is your childish obcession with names?
every anti-somalilander comes up with this childish infatuation with the name somaliland.
and they other such words as if you dont want to be part of Somalia why use somaliland?
isnt somalia italian? since when do somalis add "ia" to thier country is it even part of the somali langauge?
IF we call it Camelnutsland or mirqaanland you would still be bitching,.
get over it,

Guray.. we had Italian Somaliland and you guys had British somaliland.. then we changed it into Somalia... but because it was the best name we could come up with...
Now i agree with ismahan.. i think it would be more appropriate if you chose another name..
Even the UN asked your president...why did you choose Somaliland as your name.. when it mean Land of SOmali.. And we already have one of those... its like building anew country inside france called Franchland..and is rather inappropriate... But i hope you get your independence because thanx to the the invasion we are going to struggle for many years to come so i wish you well..

gurey the reason why we cant stand that name is that oure fore fathers including isaaqs fought and died to free us all of the british colinization.the british airforces even bombed taleex but thank god on 26 june 1960 british somaliland was free italian somaliland few days later to your fore fathers where clever enough to unite with their southern brothers.its not a excuse for you to go back to the old protection name. maybe for isaaqs is this normal but what about the chioses of non isaaqs they wont give up their territories to somaliland its just a disgrace to their fore fathers 1million darwiish soldiers died their. if you are recognised and change that name i aint go no problem with it.just look to djibouti do you see them calling them selves somalilanders?hey they were also called french somaliland. its just like ghana going back and willing to be part of the uk.

Name means nothing.
I would prefer it to be changed to Awdal.
