Your absolutely right is the man's job to pay for the wedding. The problem is though they just don't make women like they use to. I mean if is the man's job to provide 100% than what is the woman job? Most females in the west now a days can't cook or clean properly. They want the house chores to be 50/50 but for the man to spend 100% even worse some can't even handle their share. They want to sit there and fart and be on the phone all night. You cant have it both ways, if you want the man to do his job you got to do yours. If you want to be independent new age Xalimo than you have to share the cost, house chores and everything else that comes with it. If am going to spend a lot of money she better act like she was born in the 1920s..

My friends who have gotten married, whether they are Arab/Pakistani/Madow... they have the same issue and their mothers get on their daughters because they don't cook for their husbands at all

Thats the thing. Is not only men that changed but women also. At times you think to yourself other than getting you know what from them and kids of course what else can they really give you? I mean i can get my own burgers..

What I heard though is girls generally learn after they get married. Cooking really isn't that hard but damn some girls are better at it then others. The key is for one, try to marry a girl who is the oldest in her family and a girl that has traditional Parents. Chances are 90% she will be able to be a decent cook. Besides Somali stomachs arn't that complicated. Barris/Basto with Hilib/Chicken/Fish along with malawax/canjeero/shah. If She can just cook those dishes adequetely that will be enough.
