Thanks.I try to spread the word to other Somalis when they falsely claim we are Arabs. I think that the truth is always enlightening and whether it is positive or negative we should accept it. But what I can't understand is why Somalis seem to want to believe that Arabs are superior and that they are blessed with some Arab ancestry when the reality is we're very homogeneous, unmixed, ancient, and have a much older and prouder history (excluding polytheism/idolism, if some did follow such beliefs).

He called them "Macrobian Ethiopians" - rather than simply Ethiopians. The word "Ethiopian" was a European term that meant "black" and was used in various points in history to refer to all blacks and/or people of the Horn of Africa. Herodotus' map in his book clearly shows that Macrobia is separate from Ethiopia:

In fact, the area he placed Macrobia appears to be in Somaliweyn.That is true about Wikipedia, which is why I provided other sources confirming that information. The information I posted from the site came from multiple other sources that Wikipedia provided the citations for and which I included. So, if you'd like, you can read those books and articles that followed the Wikipedia link that contained the same information.

I agree that Somalia need archeologists. We have an undeciphered ancient script that are in caves that contain prehistoric drawings. It would certainly reveal a lot of the "prehistoric" world (ie. world before written history) if they were deciphered. It would also reveal a lot about us as a people.
It's nice to have an ally in truth.If you read that section, it deals with doubts about his reliability when discussing Egypt. Macrobia is not Egypt. Therefore, that does not support any assertion of the invalidation of his description of Macrobians. The looks, actions, and location of the Macrobians all support the identity of these peoples as being Somalis. In other words, they sound like Somalis, look like Somalis, spoke like Somalis. They were also nomads like Somalis who lived in an arid land. They were a people who valued cleverness and what seems like riddles, just as Somalis traditionally do. They ate like Somalis (meat and milk). Unless you can find a source specifying that Herodotus' accounts on Macrobians are proven untrue by evidence, then the information I've provided is incorrect. But there is no such source. And the sources that do question his credibility focus on his information on Egyptians.

I've provided many sources outside of Wikipedia which include articles and books based on the findings of scientists and historians. You have not provided valid and sourced information that may invalidate all that I've posted nor anything that would question their relevance and use in clarifying the history and background of Somalis. Therefore, your referral to those sources as "unreliable" is simply an opinion. Also, I did not write essays, which would have a specific form. You did not specified who the "worthless scum" was and your use of "their devices" indicates that there may more than one individual who you directed your disparaging comment towards. Therefore, it is a more than reasonable assumption that you may have directed that towards any person(s) who disagreed with you, particularly considering the timing of your comment (which was posted after my post). I do not associate "comprehension" (ie. understanding) with keeping up with the disputes and drama between users on snet.
