Despair not sxb, we must live in hope.

"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our Peninsula home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. Even though large parts of the Somali Peninsula and many old and famous Somali Cities have fallen or may fall into the grip of the gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Alshabab/Amisom/Ethiopian/Kenyan rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall defend our Peninsula, whatever the cost may be; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Peninsula or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our diaspora beyond the seas, would carry on the struggle."

Hopefully you can take some inspiration from the wise words of Iman Abdulmajid.

To clarify, the purpose of this thread is not to belittle or denigrate the Somali people. The purpose of this thread is to inspire the Somali people and galvanise them into action; to show them advances and achievement we could realise if we united as a people and put our minds, hearts and resources together for a our common good.

I disagree. Over the past few years I have come to know some really inspirational, motivated and well-meaning young Somalis who are making significant contributions to Somali society. It is these young Somalis who will be the leaders of tomorrow. It is not quantity that counts, but quality.
