yes it was team work, the sitiuation in the north was a stalemate.
The Somali army was besieged in the cities and harrased, and depending
air supply for food and ammunition.
However we did not posess the heavy weapons or organization to engage
the army that was in a defensive position,
ofcourse when they ventured out into the bush they were easily handled
dug in and possessing the numbers it would have been extremely difficult and stupid to waste all that manpower for nothing.

The SNM cooperation with the SPM and USC was needed becuase it sapped the morale of the Army in the north, which was mostly Hawiye and Ogadeen conscripts. This also made all the units in the south unreliable, allowing the USC to tear through the remaining mostly Mareexan Army like a knife through butter.
