Costa, there is a census taken by a prestigious Swedish NGO. It determined that majority in Juba are Warsangeli. Rest assured, I will post this study. The study was taken to determine which clan should get the highest aid distribution.

CAwrlame and riighayaye are two warsangeli sub clans that live exclusively in the south. You can't say that about no other clan.

Kismayoo and Jubbaland belong to every clan. However, the first clans who crossed the Jubba river are the Ogaaden, Mareexaan and Harti. Hawiye I think occupied Jubba in the 15/16 century.

Mareexaan occupied Sool & Sanaag in the 18/19 century, does it mean that we should re-occupy these regions again? Ofcourse not.

My stupid wagardhac brainwashed of a cousin had the nerve to claim that kismaayo belonged to mareexaan madoow bade. Since when did mareexaans ever live in kismaayo? are these beasts not from GEDO and Cadaabwaaq? two areas certainly NOT located in the southern parts of Somalia. I would like to hear from the mareexaan member of this site . Why claim a land that does not belong to you nor your forefathers. Besides less than one percent of mareehaans make up the population of kismaayo.

Cadeey, Kismaayo belongs to every clan but mainly it belongs to Mareexaan, Harti iyo Abseme. it is a known fact that Mareexaan, Ogaaden and Harti were the first ones who crossed the Jubba. Some say it was the Mareexaan, others Ogaaden and others Harti but it doesn't matter since it is widely known that these three clans crossed first in the 19th century.

stop putting Harti there to appease some people. funny thing is the one thing ppl accuse Siad Barre of, bring Darod on airplanes, is ONLY concerning harti and majeerteen when he took pity on them during the BIG Dabo dheer drought in mudug and bari in the 70'sand brought them on planes and ships to Kismaayo and lower jubba. my dad told me for a fact about this and the man would know. also read these:
Suldaan Saalim Caliyow ayaa ayaa ka sheekeeyey in abaartii dabo dheer uu madax ka ahaa Gaalkacyo halkaas oo uu dadka iyo xoolahooda dayuurado soo saari jirey. Gurigayga ayaa lagu soo dejin jirey ayuu yiri taasina waxaa noo suurto gelisay waxay ahayd waa dawladdii jirtay maanta dadkaan ilaah ayaa u maqan ayuu ku soo koobay hadalkiisii.
one thing is for sure, that marehan had a hand in capturin kismaayo to begin with is not disputed by anyone even ogaden, but marehan dispute ogaden helped them
Historically the Ogaden and Marehan clans took over
Kismayu from the Galla tribe (a mixture of Borana/Oromo and Wardey). The traditional Ogaden elders claim they captured Kismayu from the Galla tribe with the help of their Marehan counterparts, while the traditional Marehan elders claim they were the first who crossed the Jubba River and who captured the region from the Galla.
DawladSade, I could have sworn that I saw read some history journals mentioning Harti inhabiting the Jubbas alongside Mareexaan and Ogaaden. Maybe they came later, I don't know but I don't think we should dismiss their early presence.

Well one or two people is hardly accountable for anything right? Besides you have to know what source of information the writers use. It's not like they were THERE; maybe someone baa been iskaga sheegey..

Fact is 98% of the Harti who try to claim "oh Kismayo inaga u badnayn before 1991" came less then a decade ago on boats and planes from the desert after they were starving. My dad would know and trust me I KNOW all about it.

Mareexaan did them a favor in the name of Darod and they try to use it against us. Laughing Laughing

All the Harti kids even Costa waydii, if you ask them if their DADS were born there they would never give you a straight answer.

Teeda kale wherever they use the HARTI card and not the sub-clans, waad ogaan kartaa waa meel aysan waxba u oolin. Laughing Laughing

Kismaayo has come back to the hand of the Rightful.

Cool

Dawladsade is a confused bit.ch. Harti have lived in Kismaayo since 1860. No other darood clan came before. The first clan to karbaash the borana galla are the Ogadeen. They passed the jubba and other daroods came afterwards such as Marehan. The Harti predominately Majerteen came from bari and Mudug taking boats all the way to kismaayo.

You want proof? I will give it too you. But when Dawladesade refutes it with "BARANWAA is now Mareehan" Laughing There was no such thing as baranwa in the 1860's Laughing

I just have to pull my JStor articles and the karbaash will begin.

Ashlee, that is not true. It is specifically mentioned that the Marehan and Ogaaden first passed the Jubba River and combatted the Gallas as early as 1840:

Ashlee found out what he is from Majeerteen just yesterday on the forums. His nickname in the clan section if I remember right was SOMALI-ILLI (meaning Somali illiterate cuz of his dumbness on Somali issues) so why would you answer him?
