Those intelligence reports are treasure troves. When Ismay is refering to the intelligence reports of 1909-1910 I wonder where are these stored, most of Ismays papers are from 1914 to 1920. The period from 1906 to 1912 are missing.

What i found so far in the link I gave you are:

1- intelligence reports 1902-1906

2- Staff diaries base records 1902-1906

these files are under the search code WO 106/19.

1- Daily diaries of majored E.M.Woodward. WO 106/20.

Most of these papers cover in details the battles of Gumburo, Daraatoole and Jidbaale and the activities of the leading Dervishes be it the Mullah, Nuur or Suudi.

I have yet to find informations on the middle period from 1906 to 1912 intelligence reports.

I have met yesterday one diehard darwish and I told Mullah had had 32 wives, he couldn't believe me until I show him Lord Ismay's papers.
Among the subdivion of Mullah's following:
Each of which named after one of his wives:
1-Ba ina Osman aka Meeneleh(daughter Osman sheikh HAWIYE)...
2-Ba in Yousuf aka Garbo(Yusuf Haili the Mullah's
3-Bah Barni ina Hirsi(Ba ararsame) Brigade “Darbuush”
4-Bah ina Ali shire sister of Warsangeli Sultan Brigade “Garbo”
5-Bah ina Ali Ibrahim(Warsangeli) Brigade “Garbo”
6-Ba ina Mullo (Ogaden) Birigade “Ragxun”
7-Ba ina Islan(Majeerteen) formerly known in Brigade “Ragxun” now in “Targo’ay”(literally: wire cutters)
8-Bi ina Hussein(Ali geri) brigade Ragxun”
The formations of other wives are too insignificant for consideration. In the intelligent report of 1909-1910, there are references to the following additional formations of “Sheikh Aileh” the formation of the Mullah’s father and “Goloweina” (literally big squere) The formation of Mullah’s mother ARO. These formations appear to have been broken up on the death of each parent

Remember these above divisions are post war, meaning after Jidbaale, most likely after 1910 before 1910 it was different story and different division. The period of post 1905 after the Illig treaty should be regarded the 15 years of raids and Pillages, a period in which much of the old Dervish with the exception of Suudi and the Mullah were dead. I nameed it the Budhcad years.

December 1919, The Awards Offered by the British to capture or kill top Dervish in the case they flee to the Majeerteen coast , just before the 1920 bombardment.



Notice #10, # 12 and # 13. in this original Italian list of Geffory Archer's procolimation of 1919 on awards for captured Dervish leaders and commanders and the Mullah's immediate family.

Now that's in Aw Jaamac's Kacaan book page 266-267, the original, Now notice the Somali version and translations of the that document on the same book page 268-269.



Now notice in the translations # 12 Ibraahim Gioode , is removed completely from the list., # Ibraahim Buqul's award was reduced from 500. Ruubiya to 250 . Ruubiya. Now check Abshir Dhoore's reward it was upgraded to 500.R.

Reasons are thus, the Kacaan always promoted that in the North ( Somaliland) Abshir Dhoore was a high commander , now that the British regarded Ibraahim Buqul ( a wrong tribe) higher in value then Abshir Dhoore, Aw Jaamac and his helper Idaajaa did a little crude engineerings with their ancient type writer by switching the amount of rewards .

As to why Ibraahim Gioode was removed from the list , my suspicion is the Dhulbahnate couldn't handle the fact that more Adan Madoobe were on top Dervish then their own folks. So Ibraahim Gioode had to be removed.

Poor Aw Jaamac & were shocked that their pet hero Ismaaciil Mire was not in the list , he had to make a disclaimer before these four pages by introducing it this way:

loool qaarkood madaxda ku jirin = Ismaaciil Mire, but the reality is these were the top leaders and commanders and few of the Mullah's immediate family. Ismaaciil Mire was never regarded as top of anything before the Kacaan made him into a legend.

Riddle solved , Aw Yuusuf Cabdulle Xasan the brother of the Mullah wasn't killed by ex-Dervish Cabdi Warsame aka Cabdi Dheere, it was Sheekh Yuusuf Cismaan Xasan the Mullah's cousin Cabdi Dheere killed, the confusion arose from the similarity of their names. One interesting fact also is that this cousin of the Mullah, Sheekh Yuusuf Cismaan Xasan a.k.a Yuusuf Xayle , was at the same time the Mullah's first cousin and his in-law " sodog", its very bizarre no Somali marriage I know of exist where a man married his niece . Aw Jaamac Cumar Ciise himself was embaressed this is how he put it in his book.



Read bottom page 273, Yuusuf Cismaan Xasan and Maxamed Cabdulle Xasan , are first cousins , but Aw Jaamac been embarrassed by the Mullah having sex with his niece changed the obvious relationship and called Yuusuf the uncle of the Mullah.
