Many of the forum members seem to be removed from reality, often regurgitating the same old arguments - its getting pathetic. Somaliland is a political reality. It exist and these empty words cannot reverse 20 years of political reality. Its easy to sit there, behind a computer screen and, to write all these empty internet based propaganda.
exaclty Somaliland is not what it was in the begin 90s this the reality Somaliland is here to stay , Dont mind these forum members the last few days they only discuss Somaliland
I couldn't agree more.

How can a people who share the same ethnicity, language, and religion of the us simply declare themselves independent of the rest? This is not something that can be accepted. What’s to stop every other tribal regions from following suit, after minor grievances against the federal government? If we set this precedent, pretty soon the entire nation may disintegrate. Somaliland is an illegitimate entity, recognized by not one single organization or country in the entire world. How can any self respecting Somali person encourage the disintegration of the country? That's like a person chopping of his own limb. Unacceptable.

Somaliland is a political and a legal construct. Ethnicity, language and religion are things all Somalis share. Less emotional sentiments and more realism.
there is absolutely no legitimate, legal or political foundation for 'somaliland'
its is an entity that has never existed either legal or politically. the name is somaliland is not even a term for north somalia only.
the fallacies these people peddle is beyond belief. they construct a history and politically entity that have never existed before.
these are few of the many lies that these people believe and propagate.
1. somaliland was country for five days, it was recognised by the UN and 35 countries.
it is absoltely bull becuase for a country to be recognise there a procedures that most be followed and before a country is admited to the UN there has be a vote in the General Assembly. secondly there is no country in the world that has ever recognised this so called 'somaliland' and the idea that it was recognised by 35 countries is just fantasy. thirdly there was never a politicall entity called 'somaliland' since not all somalis in the north were part to treat with British. furthermore, the boundaries of these so called somaliland are not defined not one of these kids or even the professors can tell you were the border is becuase no one knows.you will see kids like emperior shouting the border is yoocada. but when you asked them yoocada waa xagee they will say to 5km from garowe. but little do they yoocada la sheegaba waa dheer geed oo meel cidla ah ku yaal and they can even tell you gor iyo hoostoon meesha ay borderka marto  this what somaliland's claim for nationhood is based

I am glad I opened up this topic because a lot of people have started to reorient their thinking. Granted there are Somalia people, like Union, who still favor union and Somaliland people, like EnlightenedSis, who still favor union but I sense a lot of other Somalis from Somaliland and Somalia are realizing Somaliland has to be removed from Somalia.

God speed the recognition of Somaliland and the peaceful reinstatement of Somalia's government. Two governments and nations with different values, history, and objectives about the past.
