If you can't see both sides of the coin then I pity you. Many Somali men in the UK/Canada are really damaged. A good chunk are in jail, or on the streets. Its hard to find a decent Somali brother in those countries. Who is there to marry for young Somali women? If course they will be ashamed! This is just a SYMPTOM of a larger problem. The way these men are being raised (i.e with absentee/no good fathers) is a problem. The fact that many, if not most families (in those countries) are not even attempting to make a life for themselves is a problem. The fact that Somalia is/was in shambles was the first problem that set off a chain reaction of other problems, Some self-hating sisters marrying out is the lease of our problems right now. Focus on the problem and you can eradicate the symptoms.

I also think we need to hold ourselves accountable as a community, why have we failed ourselves and why are we continuing to destroy ourselves? It shouldn't be men vs women, qabiil vs qabiil as we are all one people. We need to do better.
