nothing new about aroos in a church....some churches rent their space as venue for parties and weddings and are cheaper than hotels. I was shocked first time I went to a wedding and noticed crosses on the walls but decided to pretend I didn't notice anything strange. Somali weddings are on average three ceremonies (nikax, aroos and shaash saar) held on different dates at different locations, tasteless but understandable that some people will seek to save money on the venues.
The one thing I can't stand is the idea of putting money in someone's mouth.....what an insult. I saw this on a wedding video from Xamar the other day and felt sick to my stomach....before I used to see people throwing money on the faces of singers which looked tasteless to me.....but this goes a step too far...they actually put stinky dirty notes in someone's mouth and think they're doing something good...uff...
